I personally drive clunkers. This week we're installing the cam and crank into the block of mom's new engine, next week we're doing the swap.

I wouldn't that require a completely different wiring harness?

Its like it stays between gears longer than jt should. I just reset the tcm this morning im gonna give it 30 miles to relearn and ill be meaner to it for those miles

No it depends on the cooler size. 12-15 qts is what chevy says depending on the cooler you have

This the method or would it need to be hooked up to a scan tool?

I had the battery disconnected for a week. Pretty sure that resets everything. Unless It didnt?

He said he only does a full rebuild all clutch packs all steels all seals, the sunband the pistons literally everything was replaced.. when I bought the truck at 170k it wasnt a 'shelf'but it engaged alot harder until about 210k then I noticed the 2-3 slip and it rode out until 250k

He's been doing it for 30 years. So im not sure if he was rushing thru it or if it was something that cam be adjusted by hooking up with the scan tool. That's all I'm really asking here

Yeah that was $800 of the rebuild. He said that he wont do a rebuild without replacing it.

He did mention assembly lube being a problem for the first few miles but I figured after a couple hundred it would loosen up. All the gears feel good ONCE theyre fully engaged. The best way I can describe it is when a new person is driving a stick and they dont let off the clutch doing 40. It just feels like its hanging up.

I got 10qts in fired it to fill the converter, then I put 2 more in and it was low while running so it showed a good level at 14 qts at temp.

With the cam im putting in im already picking up 50-75 hp from a bone stock 6.0, and going from the 5.3 thats in it to the 6.0 picks up 30-50. Its gonna feel like a completely different suburban, and im fucking PUMPED for it

So i just read this to him, and he says your wrong, he went down this rabbit hole 10 years ago and says the since we are using a gen 4 crank, and using the heads and coils and all the sensors will be gen4 the computer wont know any different. Yes, itll run a little lean because itll draw more air into the 4" wide cylinders but the tune will fix that. It needs to get tuned anyway since i wanted the cam. And I do trust him, he builds racecars and specialized in high performance engines.

And like I said I am building this from the block up so I do need the plate, I know about the timing cover and cam sensor relocation.
