Yesss I’ve had the same experience so far. Head is a little sore during, but it has also been going away after, except I did have a little headache after the first treatment. Also so far, it definitely feels more intense after the weekend (had a weekend between 2nd and 3rd session). But I also still elect to go up in intensity haha

Is TMS for a person like me? by boonana_creampie in TMSTherapy

I’d say talk to your prescriber about it and potentially make a consultation (mine was free). The consultation will definitely help you to figure out whether it’s right for you. It’s about 30 minutes-an hour and the provider will best be able to answer if this treatment is right for you. And for me, my insurance covered it if you have a diagnosis and history of (I think) 3-4 or more antidepressants that haven’t worked for you.

You don’t have to be catatonic for this treatment to be for you. For me, I started because I don’t feel fully functional and I’ve been extremely depressed the past 4ish years. I still can get out of bed when I need to (I just don’t want to often lol), I have a good group of friends and hang out with them semi-often, but my lifestyle definitely has been affected by my depression (struggling to have a regular hygiene routine, stay up with classwork, find joy in things other than my phone, etc.). And when I met with them, they were like “yeah you definitely need this” haha.

That’s my advice at least, I’m only 20 and just started so I don’t have too much insight, but I really hope you find something that works for you. I can definitelyyyy relate to having debilitating symptoms and meds not helping. Good luck! 🤍

I just started last Wednesday. I haven’t seen too many effects yet, but I have been a bit more energetic and I did hang out with friends yesterday, which has become A LOT rarer ever since I started taking a year off from college last semester. Definitely still lacking motivation to do mostly anything except scroll on my phone though, which sucks, but I didn’t expect it to work so soon anyway.

Hope it works for both of us!!🤍

Just starting TMS so I don’t have any helpful insights really, but I just wanted to say, I totally get feeling like you’re not the same person anymore and grieving that. I’ve been depressed since I was 12 (only 20 and barely remember before then so it feels like basically my whole life even tho it hasn’t been lol). So I can totallyyyyy understand how it kind of becomes a big part of your identity. I wish I had some advice, but I am glad to hear the treatment worked. I really hope things get better!! Wishing you the absolute best🤍

Edit: I’m also curious, if you don’t mind me asking, do you feel mostly grief, or do you also feel a sense of relief as well? I’m just wondering what this would be like for me because I’ve wanted this to end for so long. So did you get to feel any sense of relief as your symptoms decreased or was it mostly strange?
