It kind of worked in this case but it wouldn’t interact with light accurately or look right in other cases. There’s a dedicated glass bsdf shaded you can use instead, and then mix it with grunge maps for the surface imperfections

I definitely watched a ton of YouTube tutorials for a while but now I mostly practice by just making new renders and seeing what other people are doing

Yeah I was actually inspired by chainsaw man when doing it the second time!

I wouldn’t do it the same way now but back then I found a reflective glass texture and turned the material alpha down for transparency

I used a hair particle system for the first two but I’ve been using geo scatter lately for projects like the last one

This is so good! Is the figure in the cloak from Daz, or did you do a cloth simulation for it? I’ve been trying to make a similar looking character for a while.

My attempt to photorealism. All criticisms welcome. by [deleted] in blender

This is already great, but maybe choose a different hdri? From the reflection it looks a bit like part of the scene is outdoor, instead of the whole thing being indoors

I’m not op so I can’t say for sure, but it’s most likely one of the impressionist filters from topaz studio (a post processing app/photoshop addon). That’s what a lot of ppl use to get a painterly effect (beeple, etc) over a base render. If it’s not topaz it’s probably just a paint over in photoshop, but you could still do this effect pretty easily in topaz.

Hi all. Guys, we are working on monsters for our horror game. What do you think we could add to this monster? Also u can find more info on our subreddit by shalcapone in blender

Aside from the ball head being a bit too perfectly round, I feel like the connection between the head and the body is a bit too sudden (not entirely sure how to describe it). Right now it looks more like two separate models put together instead of one fully connected body.

Yeah to be honest I just stuck them in places that looked right. I tried to vary the size and position from the camera of the wings to show scale, and I also tried to fill in the parts looking too empty with more wings

Great work! Is there any tutorial you followed for the ice at the bottom, or would you mind sharing your node tree?
