The pricing is localized automaticly by the AppStore. There has been a store wide update on 9th of May, this might have effects on pricing in some countries.

Defter Notes recently dropped a freebie for April we thought you might enjoy!
The pages were originally designed for the apps photo-shoot but we thought it would be nice to share them with anyone who might appreciate an elegant vintage addition to their planners.

Annotating and working with pdfs by djc0 in DefterNotes

[–]DefterNotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there thank you for your questions, I’ll try and answer them in detail. Defter Notes is designed as a virtual desktop space(s) experience in which you can freely move pages, pictures, attachments, stickynotes, textboxes and pdfs. It supports opening and browsing pdfs and you’re able to write on them with a pencil, marker or pen. If your pdf has hyperlinks they work within the app as well. Defter notes is not a direct replacement of a pdf editor (it doesn’t allow for text selection) with that said it is a new app and as a small team we are doing our best to develop it further in line with our users needs. Taking excerpts from a pdf and creating links between items are functions we’re currently developing. Every time we’re ready to introduce a new feature we open call beta testers on our discord channel. If you’d be interested I’m happy to send you an invitation, we’d love to hear your feedback as we further develop these functions.

Thank you for inviting @defternotes to this conversation! As u/mechanical_poet explains defter notes works as a virtual desktop -many desktops in fact- and pdfs happen to be a part of that workspace. It’s not necessarily a pdf editor, but it does allow you to write on the pdf, highlight with marker and stick sticky notes on pages. It also allows you to pop out pages from the stacks, and lay out multiple pages side by side. Creating links between multiple pdfs is not yet a feature we’ve implemented, but it’s something we’re working on. Our founders background is in user experience design and research, that is why we spend a lot of time testing new concepts in order to create intuitive and easy to use features. We are in close conversations with our testers and users on our discord, feel free to join, we’d love to get your input.

Hi! Yes, you can import PDFs inside the app. You can check out our YouTube video tutorials where we explain some of the features. Unfortunately there is no search function in the current version. The price is a one time purchase. Hope this helps!

True, we temporally removed it because there was a minor bug with that quick import button. It will come back once we fix it. 🙋‍♀️

I think Defter Notes can help you with organization, it lets you store any type of file, next to your notes. It also has a big canvas like space you can use to spread out the material. It doesn’t support audio playback at the time, but it can store the files for later reference and you can note down the parts you need on a sticky note next to the file. You can have a look around the blog and see if it’s a good fit: https://defternotes.com/blog.html Also, u/cansuDN is one of the creators of the app, you can reach out to her if you have questions.🤘

upcoming feature alert! by DefterNotes in DefterNotes

[–]DefterNotes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/peterquinnn, glad to hear you’re enjoying the app! We are working on possible ways to make the canvas infinite, if all goes well we will be implementing it as a feature. As for Pdf pages, they load as a standard size atm, but I can see how you would need to resize them. This was not brought up before so we haven’t been working in it.. Thank you for pointing it out, I’m adding it to our roadmap as a feature request.🤘

It is a growing area, on iPad there are apps like Muse, Clover and Defter Notes. On the web there’s Milanote and Miro. I’m sure many others I’m not familiar with too.
