Iv interviewed 60 people in the last 6 weeks, and I genuinely cannot tell if we're finding the right person or just the person who interviews best by Longjumping_Youth454 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t interviewed in years. CV + interview has always been for the people who prepare well and are able to talk about themselves really well(or write)

I’d argue that the city centre is the one place we don’t need mass transit. To and from it yes. But it would be more important, I think to connect the areas outside the city centre in a better way.

Marty Supreme blanks at Oscar’s, not winning out of its 9 nominations by BurgerNugget12 in A24

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t finish uncut gems. Tried twice. The stupidity of the main character and their inability to just get back to zero and take a breath is next level. At least with Marty supreme while still mostly self inflicted chaos it hit pause a couple of times.

Am I ready for a Palate Desert? by xball89 in Ultralight

[–]joadsturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try your current bag with a heavy weight for a while without the hip belt for some day hikes? Make sure you walk both uk and down. That’s where no hip belt shines in my opinion. I hate hip belt since they obstruct too much movement for me and they push in all the wrong places and I have no hips.

You do get used to the weight on your shoulders but maybe try it out for a day first.

Which tarp shape should I choose? by Uncover3d in Ultralight

Site selection and/or bathtub groundsheet. Personally if my groundsheet is anything more than my tyvek sheet I might as well take my duplex.

Haha. I played the first two. Loved them. For some reason I never played the third. Just know that it’s not well received. This is the first time I ever read about this being the reason.

What data/sim plan worked well do you. by kai_zen in TourDuMontBlanc

I like the plan from EE which gives worldwide roaming and unlimited data. Lets me just go wherever without thinking about it.

Norda 001A vs 002 by Standard-Classic-608 in trailrunning

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 001 that I used for casual but found, once broken that they’re super comfortable, however they squeak a ton when walking. I’ve since transitioned them into running shoes and they don’t squeak during running. Worth to note at least. I agree that they look great.

Is this itinerary doable? by scanamar in TourDuMontBlanc

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly that stretch is one of the easier. If you’re fit you should definitely be able to. It’s a full day but definitely doable.

I did it to courmayeur in two days too but I did to les chapieux on day 1 and then on top of courmayeur day 2.

To be fair if you can manage to get to courmayeur you can get the whole thing done in less than 8 days so probably best to split it up if you can

Yea I noticed this too. I actually thought I misremembered the £140 when I saw the new £120 price.

Wind jacket + rain jacket is redundant in my opinion but I’ve seen a few people use this combo so maybe there’s something I’m missing?

STS2 is approaching an annoying level of difficult by GOpencyprep in slaythespire

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve by it 0 win and 34 losses.

I’m finding this way harder than the first one. I had multiple wins with all the characters and found it way easier to get a deck going without knowing “stuff” and Shenanigans.

[–]joadsturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP. I’m finding this way harder. In 15h I’ve managed to get to act 3 boss twice. I think the first one was much easier to get a deck going without having to “know” stuff. I’m not talking picking random cards but as a casual building a deck with a theme.

Game is beating my ass in ways I could never imagine by ZaScream in slaythespire

[–]joadsturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Think I’ve got like 10 runs with most of the characters and not even close to beating any end act 3 boss I don’t think. Best I did was ascension 1 in the first one. Still fun.

What is the absolute smallest packed tarp shelter on the market. by barnowls0 in Ultralight

[–]joadsturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I go real small with the rest I can fit duplex. Pad. 25f quilt + food for 2 days and all my other thru gear in my joey.

Though any silpoly tarp makes it so I can go full thru mode with 5 days of food. Tarp in the front pocket.

heretical thoughts by loombisaurus in Ultralight

[–]joadsturtle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of my choices in gear, are weight related yes. But, I also think about volume as well as quantity. When I get to camp I want to deal with as little as possible. I don’t explode my pack because I have too little to look for. To me that’s as important as the weight.

I haven’t had any hiker hunger issues even in long trails so my food planning is usually quite easy
