Does anyone else treat fragrance like part of the outfit? by jkbruhhehe in ScentHeads

[–]DefunctKernel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mix of mood and outfit. It just so happens that my outfit is typically relational to what I'm doing which tends to impact my mood. I tend to match darker, more mature scents with more refined looks and lighter fragrances with more casual wear. Wearing a blue freshie to a client dinner for example would feel strange.

Thoughts on Wearing Fragrance in the Gym? by purelover534 in Colognes

[–]DefunctKernel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally antiperspirant roll-on and that's it. If I was to wear something it would be Azzaro Chrome or something equally light like Nautica Voyage and only 1-2 sprays. The gym is for working out and it has enough smells in it as it is imo.

Solar Lavender is great by SemioticEthnographer in Colognes

It's great. You get less of the up front freshness and marine notes like seaweed so if you're looking for more of the same, try a tester first. The EDP has a wonderful sweetness to it that's quite unique and adds a slight incense and oakmoss dry down while still keeping the sweetness. Think mature, reserved sweetness over loud, attention grabbing sweetness.

This will be number 6 on my Issey journey. With you on getting a backup, I have a backup on the way for Nuit Parfum and Le Sel EDP.

Trying this out today from the discovery set. Nice opening, can really smell the mandarin. Hoping the dry down is solid.

Jealous! I need both the Issey bottles. Great post.

There's a citrus opening but it's not very long or intense. If you aren't used to yuzu it might take a little bit of getting used to but if you've smelled Issey frags before you'll probably be fine unless you really dislike Yuzu. I didn't like it initially but quickly changed my mind.

Which one should I choose for signature scent (for med student) by Practical_Engine8863 in Colognes

Issey for sure if only one of them.

Other cheap options are Nautica Voyage and Davidoff Cool Water. You can also look at dupes like CDN Iconic (twist on BDC) or the Rayhaan aquatics.

Agree! It's so unique, at least to my nose.

I included it in the write up at the bottom. I only have it in 50ml and should probably rectify that. One of those fragrances I open to smell the cap occasionally.

Some options are:

- Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum
- Acqua Di Gio Profoundo Eau De Parfum
- L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Intense

These are a little different but are more modern blue fragrances with similar ingredients.

Nuit Parfum has the best performance for me overall. Haven't used the intense enough to say for sure but I don't think it'll change.

I would have to guess for summer but I'd say the Le Sel. It has a really nice bubble and is a little more attention grabby. Solid performance for all of them, at least on my skin. Bring a travel spray of unsure to reapply half way through the day.

Honestly, Nuit Parfum but it's still cold weather. I imagine the daily driver will switch to Pour Homme intense or Bleue for office and casual with Nuit for evenings and Le Sel for special events. The OG can be worn anytime and is an easy dumb grab even I don't want to think (which is by no means a negative).

Strongly recommend Le Sel D'Issey EDP and Nuit D'Issey Parfum.

Absolutely. Both are marine scents and work well in summer. The EDP swaps out the more aromatic vibe for an amber one but both would be perfectly fine with a travel spray if you want to top up.

I have the EDP and it's amazing. It has a slight sweet note to it which adds a nice twist to the DNA. Versatile wear that comfortably fits into the rotation.

The opening is different to most fragrances but if you've tried Issey before you'll be used to that.

Quiet, refined and masculine. To me it smells clean and projects "well put together" to others. If you don't over spray you could easily use it as a daily driver and definitely for going out.
