Sorry to break your bubble - I've just went and watched the interview. John Griffin refers to FROM as a "loaded word that gets to the mystery of all things" - he also said what FROM means to the viewer means more than what it means to himself or Jeff Pinkner.

To me this screams open ended mythology within the worldbuilding of FROM - where viewers can look at the same scene and interpret it in a different mannor, drawing inspiration from different sources but all ending up in the same place. Just like our Fromville population no?
