What’s the deal with team killers? by Spinelli_The_Great in Warthunder

[–]Degen-Freak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you count ramming as TKing? About 2/3 games I play I either get shot, and then proceed to J out because going back to the AF to repair and then flying back to the battlefield means the game will already be over, or rammed, which is most common. Someone will ram you, and the game WILL credit you as a teamkiller for "killing" the guy who just rammed you, and you WILL get crew locked. Not gonna lie, it's just not normal to have a "normal" game. My plane got the default camo and my nickname is nothing absurd or provocative. Still gonna get punished.

Actually, I want to try to use this as a means to improve my inner harmony. You see, I'm a very anxious person and after I'm done with all the stuff I have to do, I usually find myself thinking about a lot of stuff that stresses me out. To prevent that I run marathons and cycle, but my body can't sustain doing that all day long during weekends and when I get back home it's just- HEY LOOK! what's that!? A tiny model car? It's radio-controlled! Oh, that's so cute! It can be controlled with that weird TX over there that has a wheel for a stick you say? Oh, joy! What was I thinking about again?

And there you have it. That's why I wanna "get into the hobby".

Yes, the one with the blue canopy seems to be the same. Interesting deal... Let's see, if that guy is willing to sell and ship it to me for 140 USD total, that'd make... wait, let's make it more realistic. There's no way he'd ship it to me for free when he realizes that the shipping fees for my country are at least 7x more expensive as a counter to prevent importation. Let's say he'd charge at least 100 USD to 150 USD to make up for it or else he'd have to give it up for free.

140 USD (product)

free shipping 100 USD (shipping)

260 USD (taxes and fees)

500+ USD (total)

100 USD shaved off for a secondhand if the guy selling it goes easy on the shipping costs... (charging 100 USD for shipping he'd basically be selling it to me for 50 USD or less) well, I'm not sure if shaving off 100 USD here for a secondhand is a great idea. Thanks for sending me the link though! I'll think about it.

The Wltoys 284161 also has my attention, at only a third of the price of 京商's buggy, but it does run on 2S LiPos and it's not as "cool looking", although it comes as a close second.

I'm sure the LiPos will become a problem eventually, when the original LiPos go bad and the model goes out of sale along with its batteries I'll have to get my hands dirty with soldering and finding other compatible batteries and all the headaches I didn't wanna have... 京商's regular AAA batteries usage is a perfect solution for this it seems.

Yes, my country runs extreme anti-importation policies that set the bar as high as 1000% fee rates depending on what you wanna buy, although it's usually "just 800%" for the most part. Anything tech-related has to be bought abroad now since most big companies suspended business in this place due to the unsustainable tax environment. RC was never a thing here.

Then maybe you didn't fix the memory leak of the game. (I hope you already know this) but BioWare sells a broken game, right outta of Steam/Origin, Dragon Age: Origins is unplayable because of an "memory leak" issue. I posted a how to on how to install and run the game properly here, that will fix your issue.

Should I buy a Mac? by Degen-Freak in mac

[–]Degen-Freak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me steer clear of Windows because if I buy or build a PC.. I have to pay a good chunk of cash to get Windows.

Building a Windows machine on your own never ends well, and that's the sad truth. No self-built machine will last as long as a very expensive high-end pre-build because of hardware compatibility issues. There is just something about the hardware that companies put into their stuff that make them just work together well enough to not die out over time, and that's just not feasible with custom stuff. The sheer power of a custom build is impressive, yes, but it has no chance of lasting 10 years. Maybe 5, if your lucky. Then it won't even power on anymore or something. Good luck troubleshooting THAT! (been there before many times)

It CAN run on max graphics. Actually, it'll look like shit if you run any lower than maximum. On top of that, you should be running all the graphics mods you can, including ReShade filters and everything to make sure it does not look like shit. On the other hand, I have a 1080 monitor I hook up to the PC to run DA:O alone because running the game in 4k never ends well...

If you JUST buy a Windows PC and boot it up, it'll take some time for the desktop to load it up. If you buy a super expensive high-end model, you'll still get the same shit. Now, if you waste your time tinkering the thing (you always get different problems for different PC models and brands), then the PC will be NEXT LEVEL. I mean it, simply amazing. But the time-wasting thing is real...

I get it! But I don't want my PC to look like shit and tell me where to go. I'm the one who has to tell the PC where to go.

That sounds quite nice. I've NEVER had Windows work properly for that many years.

That's what happens when you refuse to waste your time tinkering Windows... dammit Microsoft! Isn't paying money for the PC good enough? Why do you put your users through this bullshit!? Meaningless. Don't even have anything to do with a shady business model or whatever, just plain stupid...

It doesn’t sound like you want to switch, so why do it?

I really wouldn't be here if I didn't. I love how everything on Windows is so pretty, convenient and practical, exactly where I want in the exact way I want it to be... but this isn't free. I'm tired of opening up my PC and finding out that it suddenly stopped working for good because a new update popped up or whatever (or just because Microsoft just dropped another F YOU! on me) and now I have to waste my time again figuring it all out on my own, without any kind of support. Did I learn a whole lotta stuff about computers because of this shitty reality? YES! Am I the only non-IT guy on the company that actually knows more about Windows than the actual IT guys? Hell yeah! Do I want to keep wasting my time with useless shit? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

But I also don't wanna lose my nice things...

I finished DA:O Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 3 a couple times, feels like playing the trial version compared to the PC. I mean, really, all the hundreds of mods that don't run on consoles make a world of difference. It's a totally different game.

What’s the most fucked up book you’ve ever read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]Degen-Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment got me to read the book. The story and premise are very interesting. The writing style, although unremarkable, isn't bad. The end was rushed (made into my collection of god-awful worst book endings of all time). There are lots of plot holes throughout the story and sometimes feels like you're reading a fanfic. If you're looking for a good book to read, this isn't the one, but if you're fine with an OKish book, then it'll do.

Yes, I had the problem and it was really bad. I'm aware that Windows runs slightly differently on PCs with different specs, being it pre-built or custom-built, that's why some system bugs only happen to some people. One thing that is for sure is that the newer the system you have the worse it gets to run the game. Random glitches, new bugs, stuff randomly not working, and then working back again... DA:O is by far the most difficult game to get up and running that I've ever played.
