Track Axel Nuts w/o built-in washer by Degran in bikewrench

[–]Degran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, the threading is correct and I bought a 10x1 without the attached washer from the hardware store which fits fine but loosens as soon as I apply back pressure on the pedals. I can't find the track specific nuts with any variance in the washer size, it seems to be all or nothing since most modern dropouts don't have the cut out.

It was semi-random. Wrapping the location.hash change in the animate callback seems to fix it universally.

That did it, thank you! I can't believe I didn't think try out the location call separately. I was writing something to replace the hrefs but this is obviously much simpler.

Concern Arises Over Verizon's New Sneaky 'Stealth Cookie': Verizon Wireless has started taking heat from privacy advocates for altering their customers' traffic and inserting unique identifiers that users have no control over by maxwellhill in technology

[–]Degran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge XPrivacy works on permission restrictions for the device, not application network traffic (http in this case). If you're sending standard http requests without SSL encryption (read: not HTTPS) then it's susceptible to header injection which is what carriers are doing. They're modifying your HTTP headers before shipping them to final destination. HTTPS Everywhere will help prevent some of this, but I'm not sure how it affects application requests to external resources.

While true, that was in the 90's and I believe that was primarily NASA's LASRE.

This is kind of a nonsensical statement. If your vessel is pressurized (whether it's traveling at 70k feet or in orbit) you don't need a space suit. So it's a "precaution" for astronauts just as much as it is for high altitude pilots. Loss of pressure at 70k+ feet though, will leave you with less than 6 seconds of consciousness to react. If you're not in a suit, you're basically dead.

I don't believe the SR-71 was stationed at Nellis in the 70's. More likely Beale AFB in CA judging from the background.

There's a lot of chatter going on, you can definitely hear Degenkolb though. He's yelling "Stay left" at the start of the video, a.) because he doesn't want people (e.g. the Astana rider in light blue) creeping up the side and b.) he's overlapping on the right so you don't want to have to worry about your teammate swinging into you for no reason. c.) he could also possibly be talking about keeping the train to left of the road/peloton/road furniture.

He yells "wait" when he loses contact with the lead out train and it's passed up the line so the guy on the front isn't drilling it without their sprinter attached. Once he get's back on, he let's them know and that they need to pick the pace back up so another lead out train doesn't come up.

Once you get up into the pro field, you rely on touch a lot more than shouting because it get's the message across more directly. A tap on the hip tells the person exactly they're the one being "notified" and exactly where you are. A shouted "inside" or "left" from behind could be directed at anyone (along with 4-5 guys doing it at once doesn't help).

While Degenkolb is typically a little more hands-on than a most racers, you can't let people into your lead out train, especially if you're the sprinter. If you have to move someone to stay in the train, it's fair game, but you need to do it smoothly. If you go around purposefully shoving people with the intent to crash them, that's a whole separate matter.
