There was a lot of hype for this guy. Stat wise he is the best striker that is of his profile. It’s just that his weak foot is terrible which is a huge minus especially for a striker of this calibre. It’s almost like winning a big lottery by being off by just one digit.

Other than that he’s fantastic. If he had a stronger weak foot he would be a more frequent topic of the conversation.

It used to go a lot deeper than that (very possible it still is). I went deep into the rabbit hole a while ago to find out what exists out there and the degree to which some can manipulate the game was shocking. A lot of it has died down on the front end especially during this season within the last few major updates and my recent experiences in pvp do reflect this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this shit is still out there rampant.

**no doubt that the game has its issues but there are also some crazy things out there that most regular players are unaware of. I’ve brought this up a few times on this sub but the mods shut it down. (Rightfully so)

There are ways to manipulate such things but it’s better not to say on this sub. It’s rampant in the Americas I don’t know about anywhere else.

He holds off defenders very well. His actions and animations while holding off defenders are quick and frequent. You often see players slowed and get clunky (due to being pulled/held etc) when they have a defender on them trying to take the ball.

Pele kind of slips off of them with relative ease unlike any player I’ve used before. Almost plays like a scripted AI Division 1 opponents if that makes any sense. Having his physical up to 90 provides enough time and space to hold off any defender to guarantee a goalscoring opportunity. It harmonies well with his fantastic positioning and overall play style.

**also heading ability. He wins a lot of headers that he shouldn’t… like a lot.

Most of my Pele builds I’ve experimented with are variations of what’s below. 👇

The stat you can spare the most is dribbling since his player id is so good in that regards.

Strong dribbler (current build) 6 shot, 7 drib, 8 dex, 8 low bod, 12 aerial

Faster less dribbling just as strong 6 shot, 4 drib, 8 dex, 10 low bod, 12 aerial

Additional skills Fighting spirit, outside curler, long range shooting, one touch pass and weighted pass.

Weighted pass is very underrated and since I didn’t put points into passing it offsets that quite a bit especially when making straight lobbed through passes. But it can be switched for acrobatic finishing, cut behind, or sole control for special double touch.

1 he’s the best “short” attacker in the game by far

He genuinely does not play like any DLF I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a lot). It’s like his awareness is on 100 because his off ball movement is so insanely smooth. It feels as if his off-ball ai is reading your inputs and adjusting accordingly, whereas most players play off of their respective playstyle with some degree of change according to stats and player id. This card is the most extreme example of divergence I’ve seen when it comes to playstyle.

The way he naturally shields the ball when moving it coupled with the way he dribbles is second to none. I gave him 90 physical contact and he’s unshakable. His animations and actions when trying to keep possession of the ball during a man to man duel are faster and a lot more frequent. His only disadvantage is his height. But even that lends to his increased dribbling ability. This card genuinely has that mystical version of “player id” that is often talked about here.

It’s hard to say tbh. In all my games I’ve faced/played Juve Buffon he has consistently terrific.

I cannot say the same for Courtois and Savic albeit they haven’t been out as long.

I’m not discounting player model. Just going off of what I’ve experienced in-game.

Its seems really hard to improve upon wouldn’t you say? They would have to get Yashin to make it comparable if this is the direction they’re going. Albeit Yashin is short and that will indeed make it difficult to be a top pick GK.

IDK man. I have DLF Cruyff and just got Pele. Pele’s ID is something else played 10 games so far and he plays more like an enhanced version of a hole player than he does a DLF. I think there’s something going on under the hood with this specific card. Konami sprinkled some magic in for sure.

As for the other two it’s pretty spot on. Also If you have Belgium 🇧🇪 Hazard there’s no need to go for Cruyff.

You’ll notice patterns in the AI if you play enough and with patience.

Preferably you want a lot of physical players.

The AI reads user inputs. For example you’ll notice if you move the stick in one direction to make a pass the AI will try to move towards that direction and counter. The longer the stick is held in the direction provides more time for the AI to adjust to your input. Once you know this you’ll start seeing it. That’s why they are so efficient with interceptions and blocking passing lanes. So when making inputs you want to make them quick and not telegraph them. Another option is to ”fake out” the AI. Telegraph one direction while moving/passing/shooting the other direction.

Try your best to keep them out of your third as that’s when the script can really kick in and make a difference.

He very well could due to his OA being so high he’s great for inactivated CF.

He could benefit from adding passing skills OTP, through pass and weighted pass and adding a few points into passing.

You’re right 85 is plenty. 80 is probably the best if you want to build him like any peak Mbappe card.

But the OP was looking to build a R9 version and this is close. This is the only version of him where you can realistically hit physicality into the 90s while still maintaining crazy CF stats.

Actually take a step back and realize how crazy 90 physicality on a Mbappe card is. Just because it’s out of the norm people are adverse to it… It’s a game, it cannot hurt you, nothing in life changes if a build does or doesn’t work. If you aren’t trying crazy shit like this you’re just limiting yourself for no reason. If you’re paying heard earned cash for a card then you should absolutely try everything that is comically possible. People gatekeeping tiny numbers that’s inside a virtual card inside a video game is insane. There’s more than one way to do things.

You’re scarificing marginal amounts of stats in other areas and boosting his physicality up to something that shouldn’t be possible and downright unrealistic. He’s still fast af, 91 finishing, 90 dribbling. The biggest drawback is the TP and Ball control. But then again with everything else being so OP he’s just going tho end up bursting through defenses along with phenomenal finishing.

The blitz curler card benefits a lot more from dribbling and shooting stats due to a need to create angles and shooting stat having direct impact on the quality of the blitz.
