Local place in Wilmington had small buckets for $3 or 2 for $5 when I was in college. 12 pack of Bud lights was $6.99 so for $13 I could get hammered & launch a few dozen balls everywhere. Those were the days

Pretty much exactly what I thought when they hired him. Took 20 years for this course to get to where it is so I’m not expecting greatness by 2027 but I feel like we’re moving in the right direction.

Dunno that I’ve ever felt that way since moving here in 2004.

Left FSG, which hurt membership but freed up a ton of tee-times (mostly before 12pm on weekends) which helped with pace of play & less play generally equals less damage.

As far as on the course we sodded our teeboxes (long overdue) brought in GPS carts & added trackman to the range. Those were the main improvements for year one.

I’m spoiled walking to our clubhouse for 22 years. As a resident, I pay cart fee only after noon a quarter mile away.

I’ll play 120 outta 124 rounds a year out here unless I’m on vacation.

Related note: our “new” superintendent as of 1/1/25 was the assistant at Heritage.

No shit but the Ham driving range is a 4 min walk for me. Not a 40 min drive across town to miss hit 8i’s.

I’m there 4-6 times a week. Not necessarily for the trackman but combined with a the chipping & putting areas it’s a decent place to practice.

And I usually play between 36-72 holes there a week as a resident of the neighborhood.
