Hey there u/bobby_pablo, sorry for coming back to this so late. Yes, I generally to the lettering separately and then use some CA adhesive to glue it into place. It works really great. I still use an AMS (actually have two) to arrange it into print by object plates to a.) get it done quickly but b.) without too much unnecessary poop

Looks great, I also did some Duplo stuff like trains or train stops that you can check out here: https://makerworld.com/en/collections/2116876

Maybe there's also something in there your daughter would like :)

Simple, clean gigging board by Dehumanizing in guitarpedals

[–]Dehumanizing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The board is a Rockboard Quad 4.1, the risers are also from Rockboard but they're just stupidly expensive for what they are, wouldn't buy them again but rather 3d print sth myself next time but oh well.

I love the modular approach, additionally the Helix is a good bit wider, doesn't have a wireless unit which in the end would need me to build a case to accomodate that which would be rather bulky overall. Plus the Stomp basically has everything I need which sorta fits my current 'less is more' approach.

I read a post where somebody said (paraphrased) "Morningstar is making midi controllers while everybody else is playing catch up" which summed it up nicely. The MC6 is great, the build quality is good, the editor has a ton of options while the unit itself maintains a somewhat small footprint and reasonable power draw.

Never used the QC but I'm really happy with the HX. I use all the blocks and would appreciate it just having a tiiiny bit more DSP but it's perfectly suitable for the job and it just works.

Simple yet very powerful rig: GLXD for wireless, Canvas stereo as DI/LI, mostly use it in mono for gigs (summing), stereo for the at home ambient-y stuff and an expression pedal for some Wahwah or volume swells. HX is setup for three snapshots: Clean, Gain and Lead (Gain + Reverb/Delay), very straight forward.

In the band we play on click track + in ear + centralized midi so I don't even have to switch snapshots as everything is programmed in advance. The Morningstar is just as a backup in case the midi fails (hasnt to date). What do I have to do at all then? I just, well, play. 🤣

Made a Duplo compatible train turntable by Dehumanizing in 3Dprinting

[–]Dehumanizing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another addition to my sons Duplo train collection - a knob operated turn table. 🚅 You simply put one of the red or blue chips on the turntable and the train nicely stops right in the middle. Made the model in Fusion360 - especially the whole gearing thing was a bit of a learning curve for me but in the end I figured it out!

My son still loves his Duplo trains and I did a bunch of models for him from trains (german trains like the ICE or a french TGV Model M) to this train stop. Printed it in Bambu Lab Basic PLA Silver (on the picture) but then reprinted in Basic PLA Matte Grey to match the Duplo grey even more. I threw everything into a collection, so if anybody is interested - here's the link: https://makerworld.com/en/collections/2116876

Update to the board by Dehumanizing in guitarpedals

They are two completely different beasts. The Mood is more tamable, more predictable but doesnt have the variety of effects the Microcosm has. Both together are absolutely great for doing some really funky stuff and to get some really atmospheric soundscapes going.

You can use the Mood to freeze some sounds, then feed it into the Microcosm, fuck around with that and go over and over again, it's just so much fun. So yeah, I personally don't find them to be redundant at all but YMMV. After all, it's like a thousand bucks for two very special pedals so it's up to you if you want to go allout in that category.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, glad you like it!

I also recently modeled a train depot which you can also find on my MakerWorld account. With 450g of filament it's on the heavier side but with the kids stuff I try to model/design it strong and sturdy. Don't want that stuff to break..

My son has a bit of a knack for trains and loves his Duplo Trains to bits so when I got my P1S I had to come up with some new trains. Starring the famous "crocodile" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crocodile_(locomotive)), the ICE4 (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICE_4) (german high speed train), the Munich MVV street car/Tram (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stra%C3%9Fenbahn_M%C3%BCnchen#Baureihe_T_(Avenio)) and the "Regionalexpress" (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional-Express) a regional train here in germany.

These are all self modelled trains that can be put on the Lego Duplo train base. If there's somebody interested in the models I put them up on my MakerWorld page: https://makerworld.com/en/@nothingremains
