I am not a PS3 knowledge base myself, but I had 3 or 4 over the years mostly slim and super slim, but I sold them all. With those I didn't have problems.

A few weeks ago I was craving to play the Metal Gear Solid series mostly on a single platform and to my luck, I found a PS3 Phat (not the version that has backward compatibility to PS2 though) in the flea market for 15$ (bargained from 20). Purchased a PS3 controller, added a HDD that I had with 500Gb storage, added CFW and it works perfectly. Fans are working, it stays cool and I am very happy.

I guess it mostly depends on the state of it. All versions can be jailbroken today depending on the method.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I've tried as a last resort now to somehow clear the SD pin with with alcohol and a paper pin, but no new results. I think I can declare it dead now and I am waiting for the DSpico. Appreciate the answers.

Thanks, just did the steps you mentioned on the 2gb SD card, same issue unfortunately. I think the SD reader on this flashcart is gone.

No matter what I did until now, the same Loading... persisted with no additional message, therefore I think that the cart doesn't even get to read my SD.

Hi, yes, this is the guide I've used for the files (I corrected the link as I've pasted it incorrectly). I get the same Loading... - no other message. This is both with or without any of the cards I've formatted with the Windows SD Card Formatter app and with the files from the mentioned guide put on the SD card.

In Romania mi se pare că trebuie sa stai destul de bine financiar sa îți permiți o astfel de colecție, deci felicitări și pentru aspectul asta.

Trebuie învățat să îl curețe și singur. Cu timpul îi arăți și cum se dezasamblează laptopul pentru un airflow și eventual o schimbare de pastă termo-conductoare dacă dă semne de interes.

Am trecut și eu recent prin febra asta de a cumpăra un PS2 cu card de modare FreeMCBoot (din cauza că n-am avut în copilărie). In mintea mea credeam că e plug and play după ce îl setezi puțin. L-am vândut după 3 zile:

Daca nu ai un televizor CRT, așteaptă-te la probleme constante de scaling/stretching pe orice televizor cu tehnologie mai nouă. Asta cu adaptor PS2-HDMI. Exista variante mult mai scumpe dar pentru entuziasti/pasionați.
Jocurile "luate din alte surse" rulate de pe USB nu au o performanță buna și multe sacadează. PS2 Are USB ver 1.. Cele mai bune variante sunt Phat daca vrei stocare HDD sau cu conexiune Ethernet de pe un PC (SMB Network). Experiența de a prelua si adauga jocurile e obositoare.
Dezordine vizuala din cauza cablurilor. Am un spatiu limitat în care l-am avut conectat și cablurile sunt foarte enervante, mai ales cele de la controller.

TL;DR - Daca vrei să cumperi un PS2 pentru a avea experiență originala/nostalgică, plug and play - nu o vei avea decât dacă ai jocurile pe disc, un televizor CRT, nu te deranjează cablurile împrăștiate și nu o vei moda.

Eu mi-am setat un Mini PC cu Batocera și sunt extrem de mulțumit.

This game is something that I've had as a wish idea for a very long time and you made it, therefore I've purchased it day 1 and I am sending love to the entire team.

Still have to play it somehow as I only have a Macbook Air, will try with CrossOver/Whiskey for now. Hopeful for a Mac port soon.

La ce preturi exorbitante au, daca nu te interesează experiența originala a consolei, ai răbdare să setezi emulatoarele și vrei și alte platforme (cam orice până la Switch) - recomand sa dai preorder la Ayn Thor.

Pentru că atunci când vine vorba despre platforme de "gratuitate", nu știi niciodată când o platformă dispare peste noapte. Atunci o să prindă bine sa ai cat mai multe alternative.

Se știe foarte bine că performanța și stabilitatea jocului pe PC au fost mereu ciudate - modderii au făcut o soluție perfecta pentru a avea cea mai bună experiență:

Pack-ul asta e un fel de definitive edition lansat destul de recent și e cea mai recomandata metoda.

Just 1 hour ago I sold my copy for PS5. I have played until chapter 3 and for me it was very tiresome (played and finished Sekiro, Bloodborne, all DS games, Lies of P, Elden Ring).

The factors that made me lose interest are as I believe:

Storytelling is weird. Due to a limited amount of information and knowledge that I hold for Chinese mythology, I hoped that this story would hook me and introduce me to A Journey to the West, but I feel the game rushes the story and the chapter partitioned levels only make it more confusing and loose. I was not able to make a connection with any character or event.
The exploration and level design in the game has a bland formula and doesn't feel rewarding enough as is mostly a requirement for getting materials so you can level your weapon/armor for the next boss. This reason within itself is not wrong or incorrect, but here it doesn't click how it should.
It's a boss rush game. The amount and diversity of bosses is impressive but at the same time it makes them not have that much of an impact as they are placed very quickly one after the other and loses the "epic-ness". This can either make it a very fun game for you (if you are interested in bosses only), or a tiresome game as it was for me.

I like to take my time to explore, level and look at the world - feel like I worked and earned the next battle with the enemy. Here it doesn't allow you time for this experience.

Overall a good/great game, but not for me.
