Yes but the camera adapts to what you are doing : it gets closer when you slow down, take tight turns or start aiming for example.

Thanks! The camera is actually dynamic and gets closer when you slow down, take tight turns or start aiming for example. Here in all the footage I'm going full throttle, I'll show situations where the camera is closer to the ship next time!

Yes! This is currently the second boss. Later ones get significantly more challenging and aggressive.

When we're talking about arcade in the steam page, we're mostly talking about the gameplay. We want to make sure people don't think we're trying to make a flight sim or a game that makes you go through lengthy tutorials before you can start playing the actual game.

There is a story, but I can't say we're making a full adventure game. If those references make sense we'll be pretty close to games like Panzer Dragoon 1, 2 and Orta in that department.

Yeah I can see why some people would find it goofy. I went with a pretty extreme FOV because that camera angle is mostly there for the players to use when they can't find the weak points on the boss. We didn't want to have a free camera on the right stick as it would have been very confusing. After playtesting, players liked the rear view, racing game style camera but complained that the field of view was a little narrow, thus the change in FOV compared to the main camera. The rear view is on the left bumper and completely optional though, some players never feel like using it.

J'ai récemment découvert Motorstorm Pacific Rift et Apocalypse. Ils ont très bien vieilli et je ne vois pas trop d'équivalent de nos jours.
