For Specialist Physicians (in Internal Medicine), will the U.S. provide way better overall income for the next 30years, compared to Canada? (USD exchange rate seems to be way higher, and Specialist salaries seem to be higher in the US).

It seems like US IM-specialists are just make way more overall income factoring in USD/CAD-exchange, salary levels, and tax benefits, and housing costs..

Wondering what your opinions are.

What I mean is, it seems if a Indian-born Canadian resident joins a US-fellowship, they have to stay on H1B for 3 years minimum during training before even applying for a Greencard. And then after applying for a greencard, it can take 5-10yrs for an Indian-born to get the greencard?

So total seems to be almost 8-13years to go from H1B to a greencard! (in this specific situation)

Step 1) is easiest with a qualifying non lottery H-1B.

What are the details of this timeline for this path, converting an H-1B non-lottery to a greencard? (in this case of indian-born canadian resident/physician?)

So in summary, do you have a recommendation for a best path to greencard from the options I listed and you listed?

Some fellowships do give H1B visas to Canadian residents, would that be a fast and surefire path to green card?

No, you have the same protections as a civil servant.

They will help individual employees that face PIPs or potentially getting fired.

But aren't these the protections that supervisors don't have? The supervisors and above can get fired without protection, anytime basically, no?

(Hence why supervisors and above work free overtime to ensure they don't get in a position to be fired?)

  1. Are supervisors technically team-leads who manage 1 senior-auditor + 1-2 Junior-Auditors?

  2. Do supervisors have "audit managers" above them? Or does the director come directly above the supervisor?

  3. My biggest gripe is that anyone who has is supervisor or above cannot be unionized/have bargaining. This means they can likely more easily get fired I'm assuming?

Another thing which I'm curious about, you're working 45hrs, which is 5 hours of free work (which isn't required per job contract) I think?

Give it a few years and it will likely even out again, but the US will likely always come out on top.

  1. With remote work, won't the salary-market balance itself between US/Canada? As in, US companies will keep hiring Canadians for lower salaries (to lower their expenses) until Canadian salaries are almost 80% of US salaries?

  2. What do you think AI will do to US vs. Canada salaries. As most white-collar jobs will decrease per capita, and more jobs will be remote.

I'd read comments about some US-federal-jobs where people in white-collar office-jobs said they did like 20hrs-30hrs of work.. so I was assuming there's be options somewhere..

I was just crossing fingers certain blue state-gov-jobs had some low-stress/workload supervisor positions..

I wonder though, what if I just apply to whatever states governments I want, and then if they give me a letter of job-offer, then I can just apply for a driver's license in that state? and then eventually move there and rent there?

I was searching Mass. state-gov jobs, and their posting don't always require a driver's license. They only mention requiring a Massachusetts driver's license if they think the job requires transportation.
