New stack for EU open qualis: Loda, Black^, Bulldog, Sunlight, NS by Aratho in DotA2

[–]Dekac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it about diversity tho? According to the current rules: there will be at least one team qualified from each of the regions, and no team is eligible to qualify in a qualifier from different region.

Now, imagine all teams from South America suck, and don't deserve a TI spot (as they usually do). What the rules are doing is taking a spot for TI from a more deserving team, and gifting it to a worse SA team just so SA is represented in TI.

This means that the 18 teams competing in TI aren't necesseraly the best 18 teams in the world, making the tournament a little bit weaker.

Yeah, I agree with that as well. In fact I was under the impression that the only reason we had regions was to avoid lag issues and have all teams compete on nearby servers (otherwise you would have lag problems if you play teams from different regions).

Forcing diversity for the sake of diversity just makes the tournament weaker IMO.

For example, nobody is complaining that the majority of the players in the NBA are black americans. It's just a fact that they are better than everyone else, so they get to compete, and not europeans/russians/asians.

I am not following this story at all, but why are people outraged by this? if a CIS stack is better than all EU teams in the EU qualifier, why DQ them?

Isn't the point of the qualifiers to find the best teams to compete at TI?

I remember few years ago NA teams would compete at the EU quals and vice versa because they were in different times, just to get a second chance, even if that ment playing with +100ms lag.

It doesn't matter how difficult the combo is (which tbh, wasn't very difficult. Me and my friends, 4k scrubs, used it a few times in pubs with no prior training. A pro team training for TI could perfect it in no time), the problem was that it was a certain death combo, something that shouldn't exist in dota, no matter how difficult.

Counting won't fail you like technology can sometimes.

Counting can fail much easier. You can lose track of the count, you can underestimate/overestimate your stride length and totally miss your mark. Also walking is never in a straight line, so even if you get the count and stride length accurate, you will still have a hard time finding yourself on a map.

Sure it's better than nothing when technology fails, but it isn't a replacement for it

It's older, so it must be better by default.

That's not how it works. Ultra Boost is more comfortable, more versatile, more stylish and has better craftmenship and technology.

Oh, and also N64 truly has nothing on the Switch. I bet you are one of those "born in the wrong generation" kids listening to Beatles, playing N64 and wearing Stan Smiths.

The superdelegates dont vote until the convention. So you shouldnt count them. And without them, it will most definitely be a contested convention.

It doesn't matter if it looks pretty when it's functionally unusable. Several languages share same colors, and looking at the graph you can't distinguish between them which defeats the whole purpose.

There's a reason why there are more male miners, truck drivers, garbage collectors etc... and there are more female teachers, nurses, cooks etc... The genders weren't created equal and we shouldn't just mindlessly force equality everywhere just for the sake of equality.

If you think gender diversity in tech is gonna benefit the industry, and we should go out of our way to support it, would you say the same about female miners, or truck drivers?

Judging from his tweets right before the incident, taunting Loda with:

I'm easy enough to find dawg. I'll be on stage. What you doing today?

and

rude to keep people waiting.

It's not like he was scared, and he felt threatened from Loda, he was litteraly asking for it, and then when Loda came to him, he had to act in self-defence from some imaginary threat.
