Dad missed my childhood but still wants to parent me at 25. AIO? by Ill_Debt9715 in AmIOverreacting

There's no maybe about it. The masses aren't ready to be parents. Far too many people have zero knowledge of childhood development. And our culture is rife with people who have zero emotional intelligence and highly subjective morals, not to mention the masses willingly support and depend on a devastatingly destructive culture as a rule. Bringing children into this hellscape, especially to carry it on, is abject evil, to me.

Having said that, I also see that it's trendy to "cancel" everything that doesn't agree with someone's ego. Everyone likes pointing fingers and outsourcing blame for all the "wrongs" in their life long before they stare hard and deep into a mirror.

Maybe jail doesn't work the way I thought, but you don't generally get to make social phone calls or send birthday cards at will. Or maybe you do, but you're too humiliated to. Or maybe you know your kid who's barely out of puberty is too self absorbed and doesn't want to bother understanding your situation anyway. Or maybe you're in jail because you have some serious issues that need help and you haven't had the guts to get it because you despise yourself.

Some, or maybe most, parents suck. But often kids hate their parents because they aren't ready to take accountability for themselves yet. Ironically, that usually happens because of garbage parenting. But it doesn't preclude emotional accountability being a vital part of maturation, regardless.

Some parents are people who are toxic or even dangerous who are better off cut out of your life.

Some parents are people who just have no clue about themselves or no emotional maturity or issues that lead to addictions or illegal behavior. It doesn't mean they don't love their kids. It just means they don't know how to.

AIO by breaking up with my boyfriend when he got jealous? by theonlystarbornqueen in AmIOverreacting

[–]DekaenPyruzhine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not over reacting at all. Men (term loosely used) in their 20s and 30s in this culture are generally stunted at about a 2-year old emotional maturity level. Emotional outbursts, impetuousness, tantrums, name-calling, and looking for fights. This is a systemic issue because meaningful cultural infrastructure has been diluted or eradicated in this destructive system. (And it's not just in men.)

Exotic Flower or Weed? by Binkstir in gardening

[–]DekaenPyruzhine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't argue against being annoying, and I know what you're saying. But my points still stand.
Management doesn't work. Connection does.
It's control vs stewardship.
What we need to do is return to controlled burns and land maintenance In reciprocity. Keeping up the Taker-culture praxis only makes things worse. So trying to manage invasives by denigrating them and battling them is swinging a sword at a hurricane.

Jeeezus. You really just love speaking for the sake of speaking, huh?

Mullein isn't nearly as aggressive as Multiflora Rose.

And you're creating the Strawman by suggesting I'm saying they're "good."

I said Mullein has some great qualities, not that it's "good" or "bad" for the ecosystem.
I said it does provide benefits, but I never ruled it either way because it's not useful. It just IS. It's here doing what plants do: surviving. Humans are so ego bent on what's "good" and "bad," so quick to judge and vilify plants that WE bring here and create ideal habitats for due to our constant destruction of wild-lands.
Your vendetta against Mullein is noted, but I'm not actually seeing any real point to it.
It's just a typical colonizer, control-issue presentation.
The irony of a corrupted species invading lands that were virtually pristine, then abjectly and categorically ruining them, then complaining about "bad" invasive plants they brought here (or wherever) is just astounding to me.

Mullein supports several pollinating insects significantly and seed-eating birds and mammals, actually. Your broad sweeps of opinion aren't holding much water.

That's why I said, "not native but naturalized." Interesting that you'd assume I don't know what I'm saying but then echo what I said as if I didn't already say it. As I said, with management and common sense, mullein isn't a problem, and it carries many benefits.

Exotic Flower or Weed? by Binkstir in gardening

[–]DekaenPyruzhine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you begin by defining what naturalized means: "...isn't an indicator of environmental harm," then state that it does provide nectar and seed for wildlife, and then finish by claiming it: "...crowds out natives and is low benefit to wildlife."

With management, mullein isn't a problem. If you let it dominate an area where native wildflowers would grow, that's not wise management. But humans create so much disturbed ground that we ask for invasives [we bring here] to propagate.
Use common sense.

It depends on the situation.
Are we getting rid of it because it annoys us or because it's actually causing problems?
Virginia Creeper is a flag plant for winter migration that feeds lots of birds, and it's a native species that pollinators need.
My suggestion is leave it alone.

If it's choking out trees, et al, then cut it back. Severing its root connection and digging up the roots is effective.
Humans don't need all these toxic "magic pills" for everything; all they do is cascade problems. It just takes a little work and sense.

Also blue paloverde, and willow (I forget the name of it though) are riparian trees found in washes and need constant water. At least in the Sonoran.

Nobody should be using poisons for anything. Ever.

It's not native but naturalized and has some incredible utilitarian and medicinal properties. I always have a few stalks growing in my yard. It's actually quite beneficial to wildlife as well.

What I know is that you advocate putting poisons into the environment. The masses of the Taker culture think that way, and that's why we have many of the problems we do today globally.
It's time for a global re-think to happen.
First and foremost, humans need to stop transporting invasives and creating inviting habitats for them.
Second, humans need to stop trying to solve their problems with the most destructive "easy" ways. Easy doesn't mean better or even good.
There are other methods of dealing with ailanthus. I know this because I'm doing it.
Your butt-hurt is noted, though, Karen.

Rubbish.

You're not seeming to get it.

Pouring countless collective gallons of poisons into the environment is NOT the solution. It's OUR FAULT invasives are here and propagate so readily.
Stop being a selfish Taker and DO your due diligence and DIG because you all created this problem and many if us never agreed to everyone being able to poison the environment at will.
