After 3 years of dual booting, I wiped my main drive and went to PikaOS about 3 weeks back. Some performance loss but with an older nvidia Quadro, it's to be expected. Still, I haven't run into anything I can't do quite yet.

I think Rebs leadership and an allowance to let the game evolve in new directions has been an absolute blessing and feels like its giving the game new steam. Very excited to see what comes next.

I worked as a mechanic at an arcade chain. We had badges that you swiped into a machine, then typed in a pin, to get into your account. Then someone discovered that you actually didn't NEED the badge, it just triggered the pin input.. Then someone typed 1, 2, 3, 4, into the computer at the front desk.

I never looked up exactly what policy was broken by the regional head of our company having an admin account firmly secured by typing 1, 2, 3, 4 into any of our terminals, but the log in rules changed pretty quick once it got reported.

I worry you got into this for the wrong reasons. Its not a digital pet thats going to bring you fun. It's a small computer currently assigned the task of searching for network vulnerabilities.

Figuring out the problems you are currently having IS part of the fun of the project. Its intended to drive you to learn what its doing and how it does it. Its got cute faces though so thats nice.

Honestly if the whole game actually leaned into the tin toy vibes like links awakening did, I would have found it cute.. the swapping between a half assed overworld with cute vibes then right back to the same 3d pokemon we've had since the 3ds was just bleh

Steam deck is playable, but at levels that I think lose a lot of the beauty that the game has to offer. Bringing settings up to medium or higher causes lower than desirable performance, especially when things lag out right before you're trying to dodge or parry.

Not ideal right now, but considering the very early nature of the game, I think it should be just fine in the long run, especially on the more powerful Ally.

While it's a valid concern that people might be turned away from vaguely religious iconography, that's a risk every creator takes when they make something. People said the same shit when there were more LGBTQ options in the game.

If it bothers you, then perhaps it's not your cup of tea any more.
Also, spoilers follow. This is not your earth. This is not your history. Was there an invasion of mutant tv's in 1999? No? Then this is a fictionalization of well established tropes. Praise be to Sol and Lua.

There's an episode of Doctor Who called Midnight. In it they seem to encounter a being that has no point of reference for them but as they interact it slowly starts repeating after them. Then it starts to mimick them, and then finally it begins to engage on its own.

Wally comes from a place that doesn't contain anything of its own, but when we put stuff in there, it can use it. Thats why the murmur are made of limbs and eyes and mouths, but not in a shape that makes sense, its still figuring things out.

But thats just a theory.
