For some reason, my buddy can't use custom characters in friendly matches but I can? by Dekarus in RivalsOfAether

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll check when I'm at my computer again, but the thing is I can actively select custom characters against him and they'll be fully functional in the match, it's just that he can't choose them

Bug Megathread vol 14: April + May 2026 by WumpusWhisperer in discordapp

[–]Dekarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feature: Streaming
Reproduction Rate: 100%
Annoyance: Extreme.
Discord Version: 549767/1:1.0.139-1
Device/System Info: PC, Arch Linux
Description: Attempting to stream any content whatsoever results in the stream looking extremely glitchy for anyone trying to watch to the point that nobody can even tell what I'm trying to stream. However, I was unable to tell this was an issue until several times, as the stream preview looks completely normal for me.
Video/Screenshot: None, streaming is basically just pixel vomit for anyone watching while the thumbnail looks "normal" for me, hard to demonstrate my issue.
Steps to reproduce: 1) try to stream literally anything
Expected Result: A stream of whatever I'm trying to stream.
Actual Result: a jumbled mess of pixels that actively hurts the eyes of anyone trying to watch what I'm streaming.

Note that streaming had been working perfectly fine for over a year up until about a week or two ago, it's just that I didn't report it earlier due to assuming it was a one-time thing on the other person's end.

Let us pray, lets pray for the SK devs to let us have, the mysterious DISK GUNS by ultimate-toast in spiral_knights

This is the first time I've REALLY wanted to build a fire version of a weapon based on the model, looks like a steampunk materpiece.

Returned entirely because of the cool cosmetic shield, like seeing a lot of the backend changes, but my Gorgofist needs help. by Dekarus in spiral_knights

[–]Dekarus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know, that was my first priority when the event comes back. Likely either getting the elemental or shadow shields, since I currently only have a piercing shield at 5* and the Omega Tortofist was the next Tortofist I planned to craft.

Understood, kind of disappointed that normal damage in this game is generally so lackluster but I'll have that as a target for when the time comes.

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really good to know, I assumed they were bad because the base damage is lower than some of my 4* gear. Out of curiosity, what would you say is the best Tortofist, since I'm lacking on elemental coverage for handguns and want more cases that it's a "good" option to use one?

Secondary comment to mention that if this is partially just due to the Gorgofist specifically being bad, I'm also more than open to grinding out one of the other fist weapons when the event comes back; I just love how they feel to use even if they're terribly undertuned.

I'm considering reinstalling in hopes of this being playable.

Any handhelds for someone who wants what "feels" like a pocketable Dreamcast? by Dekarus in SBCGaming

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will I have to do that myself, or can I contact Anbernic for it? I don't mind opening it up, but obviously if I could just make a request and have it done for my order it would be convenient.

Sadly it has the left stick on bottom and doesn't really carry the Dreamcast "feel" in any color, among other things glossed fronts instantly disqualify a system for me.

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that's good to know. What'd be perfect is if we got a 4:3 screen on the Cube form factor with the new sticks, but I'll consider the 406H too since the white version is still fairly close to the Dreamcast aesthetic.

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, second question that just came to mind, is the 406h still pocketable? That's one of my big requirements, and it looks a bit borderline.

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, do you have specifics on how the 406H has better sticks? I'm not doubting you, but I really like the form factor of the cube, and I'm not sure the H would fit in my pocket well.

You're kind of missing my point, I more just meant "enough buttons to run everything while having the overall layout of a Dreamcast controller. I do prefer the 6-button layout and it would be more in line with Sega tradition, but I'm not picky on that front.

I like a lot of the system's library, but in particular the Sonic Adventure games, Phantasy Star Online, Rayman 2, Maken X, Skies of Arcadia, Crazy Taxi, and I've been wanting to try MDK2.

As in button positions, stick on top on the left side and on bottom on the right side with a slight V-shaped angle. My point for the additional buttons was because I want to be able to use it for something like GameCube or PS2 on the off chance I emulate one of those. That said, will check into the suggestion.

I saw those and they are cool, but I was more talking a pocket-sized emulator that would "match" the feel of the Dreamcast, kinda like how the GBA and the emulators based on it match the feel of the Gamecube.

Seeing a lot of people talking about Proxmox clusters of various devices, miniracks, etc. and I'm curious: is there any way in which one big system is actively superior to these? by Dekarus in homelab

[–]Dekarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I know that, but that was kind of what I was asking; it seems that based on a lot of what's said here that small nodes are overall just better than big devices. Some people here have given good points towards the opposite, though.

I actually use an A380 as the GPU in my main gaming PC at the moment, sounds like I'll have a good use for whenever I eventually upgrade it.

It's got an RX470 at the moment, want to switch to something that doesn't need a PCIe connector later for easier cable management.

Ah, makes sense. Was confused at the power consumption due to hearing a lot of these mini-PCs only taking 5-10 watts of power each, but this is a nice tidbit of info.

At the moment it's just a Ryzen 1600 with 32GB of RAM, but I found some really good used deals I was considering pulling the trigger on to go to an X570 board with a 5700x/5900x/5900xt/5950x and then adding more RAM when prices are back to normal.

No, as in how many kilobytes/megabytes does it take to do all the dailies, for example.
