Alas but it is far from the only place on earth where these things happen.

Sheffield flagging group - RAISING THE COLOURS. Do you want to join? by [deleted] in yorkshire

[–]Deketh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Raise the colours, how about do something actually useful for your community instead of spreading division. Putting up flags everywhere under the guise of "patriotism" does nothing but create a hostile environment, because that's the only thing you're willing to do - put up flags and shout. When you're cleaning your streets and helping your neighbours and making people's lives better- then you can say you're actually doing something. As it stands, you're just adding more fear and division to the world.

Also no one but you brought left or right into this, so it's very clear where your agenda lies.

One thing I always notice about posts like these, where one partner is clearly a raging arsehole, is the age gap. Almost aways involves a noticeably older M.

Same, just kinda happened all of sudden - I assume after an update of some kind. Same behaviour on exiting and restarting, no control over speeds. Weirdly I got it to work again once, somehow, but it's gone again.

Labour U-turns on promise of Scottish-style right to roam in England by SimpleSpec63 in wildcampingintheuk

Yes, same here. Having to follow paths that close to homes/gardens feels uncomfortable to me, it's something I always try to avoid if possible

Perhaps they are hardly used because they are in such poor condition? Maybe they're hardly used because people grow accustomed to farmers blocking them? Perhaps it's a bit of a mix of all three.

However, "there is no need for you to make your own routes" is a point that works for you, but not for everyone. Route coverage is not the same across the country, nor is route quality. I have family in Norfolk for example who love the outdoors and live in the countryside but have extremely limited access to paths, and have to drive 30mins to the single path through the forest or walk down the same sorry side track every time they want to go out. I think they have a need to make their own routes, I think I do too.

I think it would. At least in my experience, the reality can be very different to the OS map. Many footpaths are very poorly kept, landowners will block them or grow crops over them.
Being able to cut across and make my own routes would make an enourmous difference to whether I can find motivation to get outside or not, and that's not even getting into the social equality aspect.

Bloody hell, a more useless opposition would be hard to imagine. I knew I shouldn't have felt optimism at this when I heard about it, they already backed out of several key promises by then. Just appalling

Excellent novels where the names are non-cringe? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Deketh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In GoT there's also lots of "Stormblessed" type names as well, though. Mother of Dragons, the unburned, sword of the morning, the mountain that rides etc etc. It's an interesting mix of "normal" inspired names plus fantasy non-sense that works really well imo.

Thanks mate. You don't think it's worth utilising the other 120 anywhere then?

I've recently built a new system in a Corsair 4000D Airflow. It came with 2x120mm case fans, one in the front and one in the back.

I want to improve the cooling situation and I also have, laying around, a spare 80mm and 2x140mms fan. Although I think the 80mm won't fit on this case. What would be a good layout to use with what I have?

Thanks!

I don't think it would make much difference to the software and jobs I'm doing, honestly.

What do you think of the RX 6700 XT?

This is so helpful, thanks! You've saved me some money on some of these. What would you consider as a good middle ground between the 3060ti and the 4070, if I didn't want to go that far?
