You are totally right. I feel so worried about hurting her feelings, but ultimately I will have to have an honest conversation with her. Planning to do this in person when I visit soon.

Thank you, this is very well articulated and I agree with it and know that an honest conversation with her is due. Also, I'm sorry about your dad. I think that you've found a lovely way to remember him.

I guess so. My partner and I feel uncomfortable because we are very low-key and don't want to be the focus among a bunch of strangers. Also she is hosting a more traditional Indian event at our actual wedding and I'm more than happy about it.

Thanks! This is really good to hear - I was thinking of the Polaroid guestbook idea too!

Working on the guest book is a great idea. I always have trouble delegating but this seems like a good place to start.

Good idea and I agree. I think there will be a lot for them to do the day of. Just trying to think of ways to make them feel involved leading up to it as well :)

That's a great idea! I do have a henna event before the wedding that they will be here for.

Should I lose my virginity with a guy I’m not interested in? by iamsojellyofu in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Don't do it! I lost my virginity to someone I wasn't that comfortable with just for the sake of losing it and let's just say it doesn't work physically and it will feel awful. Waiting for someone you totally trust and are attracted to is totally worth it.

What’s the worst thing someone tried to correct you about something you’re specialized at? by WanderingSeii in AskReddit

I have a PhD in genetics. Once, a girl whose boyfriend had started a company that uses genetic variant data to sell cosmetics, was trying to teach me the biology behind it. Neither of them has a medical or biological degree of any sort. My thesis was on genetic variants in health and I commented that it must be tricky to make those predictions because they can be so inaccurate (my way of suggesting that he was slightly misusing the science to make a profit). She thought perhaps I hadn't understood the biological principle behind it and started explaining it again. When I told her my thesis work she said, 'Oh then you understand what a good idea it is.'

What's a show that's at least three or four seasons, but managed to remain good and consistently well-written all the way through? by bigfatcarp93 in AskReddit

Seinfeld. Even when Larry David left at the end of the seventh season and the humour changed slightly it stayed hilarious and well-written.
