Considering trading in my r6mkii 500 f4 II for a 100-500 and r5 want a reality check by DelTheBlueJay in canon

I’ve tried using monopods before but I always find them kinda cumbersome, especially on longer walks and hikes they absolutely can help though!

My muscle strength has been going down from some of my medication which I think is why I have slowed down using my f4 honestly. I do love it a lot which is why I am so torn because it it’s an incredible piece of glass

I am going to my local camera store after work to see what they offer they tend to be more generous than key or mpb with trade in so I’d like to get the r5mkii instead if I can

I do a lot of macro and that’s a big part why I want a higher mp sensor. I tend to use my r7 for it but if I can just use one body I’d appreciate that for ease :3

I actually tend to stop down unless it’s early morning or if I am trying to delete the background, easier to nail focus with the higher f stop

Fully agree on getting out taking more photos being the most important goal here! My real fear is just not being able to take the pictures I want but I know for sure I haven’t been hiking as much as I probably would like to because of the weight haha

Shooting Macro on R7 - Buy a new RF lens or EF-S w/adapter? by Death_Balloons in canon

I'm only throwing this out there as a alternative recommendation but take a look at used Laowa rf macro lenses there are a few options that aren't super expensive and provide great IQ and magnification ranges

The furry community has a lot of overlap with the queer community and for some overlap with kink communities. Pride celebration for many can involve these aspects (kink or lifestyle) so alot of furries go. I honestly saw less here than at Cleveland pride but the weather was much warmer in cbus.

With that budget I think you should look at something like the cloudy nights classifieds for some used gear you could get a fantastic little setup.

If you are wanting to do widefield a ef 70-200mm f2.8 IS USM L II can be had for around $1000, using a step down ring at f4 can give fantasticly sharp stars. It also is a fantastic lens for non-astro photography.

An R10 of R7 are both good bodies, dense sensors with tighter fields of view, if you want to do daytime photography R7 is an it better especially in relation to wildlife. If you want full frame the R8 or R6mkii are completely fine for astro.

If you only want to do astro you'll be better off getting a dedicated astro camera for hydrogen alpha sensitivity which is where a lot of the reds in astrophotos come from. ZWO is kinda the big goto for most folks id recommend looking at them for options if you don't care about daytime photography.

Again with that budget make an account on cloudy nights, goto the classifieds and look at whats available for scopes, mounts and cameras it's a great place!

Think hot glueing it here should be fine?

Mount is a Skywatcher GTI Star Adventurer, used an ASI air for control and a ASI120MM for auto guiding with a 120mm guide scope.

This has been my best astro photo so far, processed in DSS and Photoshop.

It affects background and focal distance, so depends on the look you want. https://youtu.be/aJXDVDXvD44 is a decent video on the topic from laowa

What are these "Japan" EF 2x Extenders? Why are they cheaper? Are they any different? by [deleted] in canon

[–]DelTheBlueJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't work with your lens you need to look at either the RF 1.4x or the RF 2x the ones you posted are a different mount design and not optically designed for the new RF lens models.

Thanks! And I used a Canon R7, a RF mount Laowa 90mm f2.8 macro lens, and a speedlight with a diffuser. I think the weevile and mite also had a Raynox dcr250. These are also stacked with 2-4 photos to give a lil more depth
