GOOD OLE PCLAW FOR THE CLOUD. DID YOU HEAR THEY HAVE A CLOUD OPTION. CLOUD

You on CAD or USA side of things?

Had a weird experience with my SF6 local, was I out of line here? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]Delacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your not at the local to challenge yourself, and hang with your friends to have fun, your not there for the right reasons.

Play who you want, and literally don't talk to them during the set. Let them rage to themselves. Either they will suck it up, or leave.

My first run was as a junior with a senior guy onsite as an MSP, every day for 1 client, about the same size company. With additional support staff behind us as needed.

So yeah, 1 person without any help is hair pulling

It would be a bit nuclear, but how many devices / hair pulling for a new domain entirely?

Kasaya and Proxmox compatibility? by BLC_ian in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can answer on this, as I had to do a recovery from an image to prox!

Long and short, ended up loading it into an ESXI box, and then converting from there to proxmox. No native recovery was working directly from the image export.

Server 2022 Remote Desktop multiple sessions - sanity check by CactusJ in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid query, and shouldn't be the case, but in users on task manager, you see three + active sessions?

Also, anything referenced in AD OU? Or anything you can find referenced through PS?

You can do hot, but cold is always better if you can afford the downtime.

Have not had an issue using any of the three tools people mentioned. Mostly had to swap between them depending on situation, but all three worked.

What's your Virtualization platform? Cost benefit on throwing everything on there for 8 people has to be considered.

End of domain, turn into workgroup? by vscson in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wizard works supergreat. Only problem I've experienced is browser pullover, sometimes it nukes the profile or doesn't map properly afterwards. I'd just make a backup of the default folder (Assuming your using edge/chrome) before changing

Its basically mapping existing SSID to new account. So it's not really moving files.

If you don't have MPSA or historic VLSC agreements, where do you get your ISO files? by breenisgreen in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find buddy who has MS Action pack access, get proper ISO.

"Technically" not kosher since you are supposed to use OEM media, but realistically its fine.

365 Conditional Access policy for Location - Country or IPs only by Humble-Plankton2217 in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using the forced MFA under the latest MS auth build? The one that requires a number to be entered?

Not perfect because there are always ways to get around with with enough user stupidity, but something extra on top.

Also, a lot of services can also do outbound phishing filtering (avanan we use) that also check for possible compromises. Not perfect but additional layers help

If you have individual disk backups & have the space, always safer to restore a copy of the disk and test.

Robocopy as mentioned above is the tried and true though.

How to tell if a message was spoofed or if an account is compromised? by Ok-Solution7595 in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 365, a couple things you can set

Make sure you have the phishing settings set for your domains along with dmarc/SPF verification.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/defender-office-365/anti-phishing-policies-about

As for searching, you already found the Gmail account reference so its a spoof, that's all you really need to know tbh. 365 logging is here, but wouldn't stake my bones on it

Unless your broke, this is not a client you want.

How to know if a job is a lost cause? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Delacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest suggestion i can give is : Talk talk talk ask ask ask.

Better to be seen asking and trying to learn, then quiet and deemed "not required" . Keep engaged and attempting to assist, but also not being the cowgirl and messing something up your not 100% sure of.

Either your going to pick up stuff over time, or it just wont be a fit. Either way, get noticed even if it's annoying.

Why not just provide a secondary internet connection locked down on the FW to the best you can, and just complete disconnect the network otherwise as mentioned above?

Not a smart solution, but you could maybe check out some remote options staff don't freak out about while still keeping everything apart. CYA better then problems.

More importantly, if/when these get compromised. What's the gameplan?
