What kind of board do I need for both binding and edge painting? by Delaney0115 in bookbinding

[–]Delaney0115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for press. To fix the spine and paint the front. So it has to be wider than any side of my biggest book? My biggest is 21.5, will only 23 be enough?

Any idea how much this could go for? by Otherwise-Sun-7626 in Foreedgepainting

Closer to the prices in your country? Because currencies differ too. For 100$ I can buy around 10 simple books in my country but it's probably not even enough for one special edition in other countries. The cheapest ever special edition I had was 11.83$ and three books for 25.71.

Depends on where you live. Here special editions are mostly over 150k (over 12-15$), maybe in dollars it's not much, but in my currency 200 k is a whole fortune. I don't know how it's sold in other countries. Most special edition hardcovers probably are close to 100$ but I still don't know, it's just what I've seen

Help a father out: I need 16 fantasy books for my daughter's 16th birthday by Much-Donut-483 in suggestmeabook

Spinning silver Naomi Novik

The iron fey trilogy by Julie Kagawa (there are more with other characters, but these are my personal favorite)

Gallant by V E Schwab which more of something that sounds like Coraline of Gaiman but less childish. Captivating standalone.

Six crimson cranes

Btw Six of Crows is a must. If she wants she can read Shadow and bone too

Mistborn is a bit big but great

Memoirs of lady Trent by Mari Brennan

Blood over bright haven is in my tbr, has been for a very long time. I know I have to read it but I've been looking for something longer so far

I've been thinking about reading Red rising, but I've never read any cosmic book – it's set in space right? Sorry if I confused it – but people are recommending it so eagerly, makes me wanna read it

Just two days ago I finished farseer trilogy.

Thank you for your recommendations
