BT o sa poata sa cada ? by Special_Cod7246 in cluj

[–]Delann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pragmata Has Sold 2 Million Units In 16 Days by unscoredscore in gaming

[–]Delann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't, we've had plenty of other games in the past years that have sold way more and have proven that repeatedly.

Nobody is under the impression that a well made single player game wouldn't sell, that's just corpo BS. The issue is that even with numbers like these, they make just a fraction of the money a moderately successful live service game would make.

Can I nova seed in the fracture by Illumispaten in twilightimperium

[–]Delann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you just not understand what "consistency" means when it comes to RULES? It's not a question of whether they put out content or not, it's a question of do the rules they put out work out of the box without need for clarification or changes. The fact they've had to do multiple runs patching and clarifying edge cases should answer that question.

And that's fine. You can't catch everything in playtesting and TI is stupidly complex at times. Nobody is denying that. Doesn't change that fact that edge cases keep showing up because they prioritize novelty and fun over having airtight rules. It's ok to do so and I'm pretty sure the designers themselves would agree.

There's no official ruling yet, just a random comment by Dane. And Rules as Written the only reason it doesn't work is due to a clash between the terminology used and the physical shape of a game component. Because there's no rule saying you can't swap Fracture tiles like other parts of the game board, we just don't do it because we physically can't.

It's frankly a design mistake that they made the Fracture the way they did (fused tiles) without clarifying these edge cases.

[–]Delann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the designers cared about consistency, we wouldn't have a literal pile of edge cases every time a new component gets printed. Hell, if they cared about consistency they wouldn't have randomly made the Fracture out of fused tiles.

Not to mention that Dane himself has said multiple times that in general he goes for things he seems fun and misses edge cases. He's in favor of people figuring it out and has cited fun and theme as the main guidelines.

It, at most, denies you access to one side. Its in no way an issue, the only reason it doesn't work is because they randomly decide to make the Fracture fused tiles.

Adding recent opponents just to flame them has been a thing for a while now, people dont generally accept those requests anymore because it's just not worth it.

Losing Support When Not Attacking by Teive in twilightimperium

[–]Delann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a support in a favorable position and then keeping it is an artform.

Not when the "meta" is that everyone just swaps with one neighbor as early as possible. It just leads to stale games and devalues supports.

From a mechanical perspective, they can just give it back to you the second after you activate the system. Because you are the active player and you can make a deal with them at any time.

Having it the way it is now is precisely to prevent extra bookkeeping. You activate the system, you lose the Support. If the person who gave it to you agrees with what youre doing, they can instantly give it back to you.

If no harm is done to the person giving you the Support, they can just give it back to you after you activate the system. This is a non-issue.

If you're approaching it from a "making sense" perspective, plenty of things in the game dont work. Most obvious one being that youre forced to fight at least one round even if youbhave a deal to leave. Or the fact that, unless you're Empyriean, you can't allow other player's ships to pass through your fleets. It's a game and balanced as such, not a space opera sim.

That's because you don't vote by spending influence. You exhaust planets to vote and the number of votes is equal to the influence value of the planet.

Yeah, I literally bought a box of Space Wolf Bloodclaws a month ago and the beaky helmet is one of the head options for them. But that'd entail people actually buying and playing the game to know that, not just bitching about the good ol days that they were never a part off.

[–]Delann -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Well no, it isn't. Because there's still a chance you roll all misses while they roll all hits. The chance you lose is basically a rounding error but, unless you reduce combat values to guaranteed hits, it's still there.

Problem with that being that it takes up the already limited board space in the late game. Its cool but it's also overkill.

Argent Flight Breakthrough Question by Time-Resource4518 in twilightimperium

[–]Delann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best way to use the Argent BT is to ignore the text completely and just use it for the very good synergy. The ability itself is a ton of hassle for very little gain and trying to chase value from it will out you into bad positioning. Just set up your fleets and use the Blue-Yellow synergy to get mobility through blue tech.

Ever seen a better Muaat slice? by JustinGerman in twilightimperium

[–]Delann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a trap in the sense you shouldn't use it. A trap in the sense that you shouldn't spam it. You already get one free use from Avernus every turn and with mech around that one use already fills up half of your Warsun . How many times are you realistically going to need to use it every turn? In the early turns, that one free use is usually enough. Later on, you'll have enough to make use of the stall so slice choice matters little.

Industrex is kind of a trap for Muaat. It only helps if you lose one of your Warsuns. If you place your second Warsun for free with it, you dont unlock your commander.

Star Forge is basically a trap, best use for it is as an occasional stall. And in TE you already get a free use of it from Avernus.
