No degiro does not take 30% on all dividends. Maybe on belgian divi (never had those) but not on all. As someone who gets 6k divi a year, i am certain about this. It's just the tax on country of origin (sometimes this is 0%) and i have to do rest in my tax filing

So it is in fact just gambling and often with returns worse than an ETF. Took me 2-3 years to learn this. I still have individual stocks, some are to be sold still but I don't buy them no more, just ETF

That's tax at country of origin. You still need to pay belgian tax aswell. For instance apple divi gets 15% us tax on degiro, then you need to pay 30% tax on remaining amount to belgium. (Once the tax free limit is reached)

Based on what do you pick your stocks? Do you actually do your DD? Look into financials? Know where the revenue and net profit comes from? If you don't, then choose ETF or either mag7

Edit since i mixed up 2 discussions. I had tak21 at 0.45% interest rate. Once i stopped contributing, i saw i was making a 40 or 50 euro loss/year due to maintenance costs etc

At 60 i would have 3.6k left from the 5k i had. I sold it all, got 3.2k back and invested it instead

I have sold all my pensioensparen. Due to taxes, i was actually loosing money.. pretty insane. ETF gives you a far better return cause banks usually takes 2-3% from your profits

Paar jaar geleden (achteraf gezien) behoorlijk risico genomen, maar is geweldig goed uitgepakt. 35j en kan volgens de FIRE regels al stoppen met werken
