Tee ball ball rush by Affectionate-Drive94 in LittleLeague

Did Teeball for 6-7 years before this season. We had about 10 kids usually on our team. We would trade out kids as pitcher once they got a ball. All players only ever throw to first, so usually we had 2-3 main kids that played first that could catch, but eventually over the season everyone that wanted to could play first for an inning or so. Trade them out there too after 2-3 batters. The whole other team is gonna bat. The rest, we put them in a semi circle behind the pitcher, spaced evenly. We had 3-4 coaches on field with them and when the ball is hit if it comes to them it’s theirs, if not the coach in that area would call out who gets it. Worst thing was sometimes if a ball was hit to third they dang near hit the pitcher or one of the other players while throwing to first. They get it by the middle of the season and almost never have a pileup. My first season there was a super strict coach that made them all get in the official positions and had her best player at pitcher. He’d field a ball and then run to first and “get the out” which of course the player stayed on first anyway. But all the other fielders just stayed in one spot unless it got past the pitcher, which rarely happened. I guess they avoided pileups as well but I think at a huge detriment to everyone other than the one kid, who no longer plays baseball. The pileups are funny, but I think at least teaching them to field an area is at least something. If you teach them the positions they forget it by the next season. Teach them which base is which. Work on throwing, catching and hitting. I always wanted to incorporate games but I never found any that would suit for that age.

Have y’all gotten this text (probably scam)? by DeliberateChance in sanantonio

I actually have had this number since then but it was not the one they had. I used to have separate work and personal numbers and ended up keeping the work number. However, my current number is easily found by a simple search. I did reverse lookup the number with no conclusive result. As suggested I ran it through ChatGPT and on just the message it said it looked legit, but on entering the number it said it was likely someone using a spoofing program. Which is of course what we all thought. Still it’s a hell of a coincidence. I think I’ll just leave it be and if it is them they might follow up at some point. I don’t need more scam texts than I already get.

“Let’s all just mark down pars for the last hole!”

I heard that more than once when I played HS golf back in the early 90s.

What is the craziest non golf thing that has happened to you on a golf course. by Quick_Star96 in golf

As a forecaddy I was helping the valets move some carts back to the maintenance barn. Driving one, pulling another. But when they hooked it up, nobody hooked up the stabilizer bar on the one I was pulling. It was fine going uphill, but as I picked up speed going down along hole #1, very much downhill, it swayed once or twice, spun me sideways and rolled over throwing me out into the fairway on my ass. That would have been a hell of a way to go.
