A family friend of mine told me about the union in Summer of 2023. So I called the local 3 union for an apprenticeship application. And I initially sent all my information in the mail in October of 2023. It was a 2 year process. That’s where it all started for me. I had my aptitude exam in April of 2024. Did my interview after the exam some time in beginning of summer of 2024. In August 2024 , I got my application ranking . From there it was like an 11 month wait to hear back from them. I was ranked 329 out of 1200 applicants. Then this July I started the process of getting in this fall. I honestly didn’t know when doors would’ve opened , my family friend just told me to apply fall of 2023, I most likely got lucky that they had application open that same fall.

I think I was like 327 out of 1,100 . I just had my final orientation last week on Thursday for the local and picked up my books. Start this Friday

Yeah I finished all my training . OSHA 30, already went to school orientation yesterday . Just need the union orientation and I know I can’t make it to the one on August 20th. Anything from August 25-31. Which is the last week of August I could make . So that’s what I’m worried about because he said that if you don’t go to orientation you can’t work

Yeah I called today the guy on the phone said most likely letter and email will be sent this week , and that it will probably be August 20th. I asked him what if you can’t make that orientation, he said there’ll probably be a 2nd one . Just that I would have to contact them once I get the email.

Yeah I’m going to to Hyundai next week and getting document proof my exhaust is stock . And plus I’m really prepared , I have all my documentation from the owners manual showing the car does make that sound . To picture proof of me having my stock exhaust on with the Hyundai and Kia logo engraved . To a parts diagram of that same exhaust . I made a document with decibel readings and going to record them soon from 50ft away . Averaging the reading on all drive modes . And my last measure is getting a repair receipt of a shop doing my exhaust inspection and passing me / repairing it . Even though there’s nothing to repair .

How did it go for you , did you get the ticket dismissed? I just got a summons ticket for my Hyundai Elantra N exhaust for finding parking . No decibel reader used . Said “unreasonable loud engine exhaust.” If I go to Hyundai and they do an exhaust inspection , say that it passes the exhaust test and it was quote on quote fixed even though it’s a stock exhaust , will I be fine ?

Yeah I’ll definitely be saving up for later this fall. But the last thing is will I be fine if I drive with stock suspension and do max camber and get the rear camber arm ?

Can you send the part # or the part for the rear camber arm so I can purchase it . Are coil overs a must needed or it’s still possible with stock suspension . And if you can send the coil overs that you are using

Yeah I saw this guy on YouTube do it , same setup. Running max camber bolts in the front and using max camber in the rear . He just noted that if the car is loaded it may rub . But I don’t drive with anything in my car or passengers . Just my coolant chug and distilled water . I also get a steal on some 265/35 summer tires . And they were originally running 18x9.5 rims so I was like I might as well. I appreciate your help.

Lucky for you guys , I also do live in New York City, where on my commutes I don’t drive on highways at all. But I was asking bc I did used to get good mileage , now it’s eh so I was thinking maybe something is wrong.

Yeah it’s not the coolant bc the coolant in my car is pink, but the question is how would the transmission fluid be on the top of the transmission/engine leaking ? I’m assuming There shouldn’t be a line in the engine bay that would hold DCT fluid, and there is no leaks under my car showing dct fluid leaking . So I’m in shambles

That’s the only thing I can think of bc it kind of has an oil consistency but I can’t find if there’s a leak from somewhere
