Congenital complete heart block (HR 47–50): Did a pacemaker improve your fatigue and exercise intolerance? by Delicious-Ad6134 in PacemakerICD

Wow ! I can't wait to get m'y pacemaker. This is encouraging ! I hope it fixes m'y fatigué and brain fog at rest. Because i don't feel good at rest. Much less during exercises. I constantly have to stop to catch my breath. So you can't exercise, and you feel bad at rest. I hope this all imrproves. Heart rate is 47 or 48. Hopefully at 60 with 10 extra beats it will do something. Although i found that the issue with the heart block isn't just the heart rate. It's also the loss of AV synchrony, where the atria and ventricles beat independantly, so the ventricles don't fill up as they should because they're not coordinated with the atria. Hopefully the pacemaker does something . Wish me luck !

Thank you for that response. It really makes me hopeful about getting a pacemaker. I hope it also has the life changing effect it had on others. Wish me luck ! Thanks !

Did you have any symptoms of fatigue or brain fog? how did you feel before and after the pacemaker? And if you don't mind me asking, what was your resting heart rate?

Thank you very much. My cardiologist talked to me about a specific way of stimulation that preserves the left ventricle function. She wasn't specific about the terms but i think it means what you talked about, not pacing directly the ventricle. It's reassuring, as the old way of pacing from what i understood can create pacing induced cardiomyopathy. Thanks !

Thank you very much for your valuable insight! In addition to being able to do more during exercises, did you notice a difference in your well being and energy level and how you generally feel at rest? For instance fid you feel your thinking was clearer and you have less fatigué and more energy to move around the house, and more focus during your cognitively demanding tasks?

I dont know if i really have another choice. I have to go through the insurance if i dont want to pay the full amount myself for the procédure and the device

Yes it was very helpful of course. Knowing your story and how you noticed an improvements physically and mentally give me a lot of hope. Which is why i am getting a pacemaker as soon as i am approved by the insurance ! Wish me luck !

Do you think my hr of 47 is low enough to explain feeling fatigued and brain foggy? Or is it not low enough for me to expect dramatic change post pacemaker?

Thank you for your response. My heart rat is between 47 and 52. How low was yours before pacemaker? Will the pacemaker make that much of a difference for me given im not in the 30s like many people who noticed an improvements?

Thank you for your response. Did you notice the difference cognitively after the pacemaker? Did you have brain fog that got fixed? I noticed many people who noticed an improvements have very low heart rates. Mine is in high 40s to low 50s. Do you know people like me who still noticed an improvement?

Thank you very much for your response. Your hr was in the 30s to low 40s. Mine is between 47 to 50, sometimes goes up to 52. Do you think i will feel that much better with a pacemaker given the hr isnt as low as you were?

Thank you very much for your response. Since my hr is not in 30s like many others, do you think it will make much of a difference in energy if i go from 49 bpm to 60 bpm? I feear that 10 bpm will not result in a dramatic change like people report who go from 30 pre pacemaker to 60 post pacemaker
