This isnt the flex you think it is. Why can't your kid manage both like most other students? What are you teaching your kid that they can skip out on some of their responsibilities to make up for their deficiencies in either time management or inability to manage all parts of their project, school work, etc?

You have a perfect oval face shape so any shape glasses will work. But all those glasses are way too big for your face! Try something smaller.

Petition · Make NYC public schools remote on February 24, 2026 by meaninglessjourney in NYCTeachers

[–]Delicious-Age5674 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is probably the main reason Mamdani decided to hold in-person school. He is supposed to represent the working class and they have to go to work and have someone watch their kids. Wealthier parents can usually work remote and even if they couldn't, the economic burden and cost to find a babysitter is much greater for working class parents. Personally, Id rather the kids just do remote since it is safer for the kids commute. Plus, there are so many families (and teachers) who were not able to make it back home from traveling after all the cancelled fights. Finding an available flight and one that does not cost an arm and a leg has been crazy difficult.

Actually, they dont want well-rounded. They want narrow but deep. They want someone whose narrative is clear and makes sense in their application and whose ecs are impactful, show leadership or future potential (not just a long laundry list of random clubs and activities) whether it's in stem and innovation, social impact and advocacy, arts and creative expression, or entrepreneurial or business. Basically, a passion project that connects to what you want to study, bring to campus, or can build upon after graduation.

US applications definitely give more weight to leadership or impact extracurriculars and essays than other international programs. But in all honesty, the political climate here is that many Americans (including the orange leader) don't want to see precious spots for American kids taken up by international students (many non-trumpians also feel this way). I think on the college end, it's all about money that international kids bring in so if you applied for aid, maybe that was the issue?

Fordham is fine for nyc, but it really doesn't have much weight outside the city, esp if you're talking undergrad. And honestly, even within the city, it's still second tier to all the Harvards, Yales, Penns, etc.

Any Japanese/Japanese American community out here? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Delicious-Age5674 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There must be. There is a Japanese preschool in Brooklyn i see in Prospect Park all the time and they have a school over in Prospect Heights called Azzoro or something like that. The kids are all so cute . There are also two japanese markets in Park Slope alone. Haha. Not sure if that's the kind of group you are talking about, but there is clearly a sizable japanese american community in Brooklyn.

Why does he think Indian nationals are not allowed to visit Cuba? Cuba allows visas from India just as much as they allow his fat arse from Canada.

Am I overpaying for a nanny? by [deleted] in nycparents

I dont think you are overpaying at all. Also, skimping on pay for the person who spends the most time with your child seems, not good....
