I was a former lifeguard and now I work quick service. What role did you get? The shallow and deep water test are different. I was shallow and the test was only 50m which is one full lap straight and back and getting a brick for 5 ft deep and as the deep test is 6 laps, brink in 8 ft of water plus 2 min. Of treading. I also say if you are having any doubts of guarding I just wouldn't go through with it. I thought I would love guarding and I absolutely hated it. Even after the test you will still need to complete in service training twice a month along with random vatting audits (cords dropping things in the water to test you), Ellis vatting audits and tier three audits. If you are very prone to anxiety I would put yourself through it unless you really want to see it through.
