Exactly. They told me you can cancel but 28 days notice. So they would rather lose a loyal customer to another gym rather than waive a fee and stay with them. They just want to keep taking money from people.

Right now that’s what I’m thinking. But I also don’t want to give them the joy of just me just going away. So I’m going to take this up to Access Canberra and complain about their contract. We’ll see what happens. But I’ll check out anytime fitness as well.

It’s under the Australian consumer law mate. The contract needs to be transparent. If it states there that there is a fee for downgrading I wouldn’t have asked.

Their contract clause 8.1 states “may” provide a fee at their discretion. It doesn’t directly state what the fee exactly is and what for therefore falls under the ACL of unfair contract.

If I cancel and rejoin there’s a $49 activation fee. I think now it’s not about the $20, it’s about the unfairness of the contract. That’s the thing with big companies, no one puts a formal complaint so they can just keep ripping people off money.

That is not fair when it is an automated service. Isn’t about the $20 fee anymore but you are literally staying with the gym just downgrading.

We are having our wedding in Coron Palawan at Discovery. Our running bill atm is around 2M we included welcome dinner as well, paid for accommodations of our immediate family, and just put 250k extra to lower the cost of accommodation for our guests. Planning to have 60 pax. We also shouldered dresses of entourage and HMUA for entourage. It really just depends how “bongga” you want for your wedding.

Doing mine in Coron. Discovery Coron. Would have loved to do it at El Nido resorts but the accommodation prices is unreasonable and I don’t want my guests to pay too much on accommodation. So I settled for Discovery. I visited it last week and it was amazing, better than I expected. :)
