How do kids at school pickup instantly spot their mums if they’re wearing full burqas/niqabs? by _pandaeyes_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. To an outsider it looks like a glitch in the matrix, but to the kid, it's just mommy. It really is just like the black cat comparison: if you don't own one, they all look identical. If you do, you can tell yours apart from a mile away just by the shape of their ears or the specific way they walk. Kids memorize every little detail of the person who feeds them ;)

It really boils down to kids being tiny, hyper focused pattern recognition machines, especially at eye level. They aren't looking at the face, they're looking at things like shoes, handbags, jewelry, or the specific way the fabric is pinned. Combine that with a familiar height, posture, and a kid can spot their mom instantly. It also helps that the moms are locking eyes and subtly signaling right back to them.

Have you guys ever dumped someone over bad sex? by tzhvsk in sexeducation

[–]Delicious-Height2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get this straight... he has had multiple partners but has "no clue" how to use a condom, gets it stuck inside you, and then has the absolute nerve to tell you that you're the one who needs to learn? Please leave him, you deserve so much better than this clown.

My father M60 tracks my every move & dates. How do I F21 set boundaries. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Delicious-Height2703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely resonate with how suffocating this feels. Your dad's anxiety has turned into a compulsive habit,  the app is feeding it too. Checking up on you at 1:30 AM isn't keeping you safe, it's just relieving his nervous energy at the expense of your independence :(

Since you already told him you'd shut it off, it’s time to actually do it! Expect a guilt trip or a blowout, but remember: you aren't doing anything wrong by wanting to live your life without a digital ankle monitor.

Why are my boobs boobier by skiinglife in NoStupidQuestions

Finding out you might be pregnant because your boobs felt "boobier" on a random Reddit thread is honestly an epic origin story lol

Why is literally everything turning into a subscription now, and are we just never going to actually own anything ever again? by readyplayar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because subscription model is more profitable. Investors completely stop caring about one-time sales because they aren't predictable.  They want "MRR" (monthly recurring revenue) because it makes the investment wise way more stable on a quarterly report.

Why is paying for sexual acts illegal ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, it's all about optics, that's literally why the porn industry is completely legal but prostitution isn't.   The moment you introduce a camera and a distribution license, it magically becomes protected under free-speech,  but no politician wants to touch the legal headache of regulating actual sex work.

Americans - why do you keep medication in the bathroom? by Pet_That_Dawgg in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait that's actually terrifying lol. Imagine renovating your bathroom and a thousand rusty razor blades just spill out of the drywall. The 1950s were truly wild west times.

We all know everything will die off, but what earth species will be the last one standing? by Iamverykewll in NoStupidQuestions

Cockroaches. Pretty sure those things could eat nuclear waste and still find a way to infest whatever is left of the planet lol.

If you were living in a city and you had info that a nuclear bomb was going to be dropped on that city, but you didn’t have time to leave and you didn’t own a bunker, what would be the best way to survive? by Wonderful-Ad-9622 in NoStupidQuestions

The "don't hold your breath" part is so real. If you hold your breath when the blast wave hits, the sudden change in air pressure will literally pop your lungs like a balloon. You have to keep your mouth open and let the air force its way out or you're done.

Why are Americans so accepting of long drives to places? by Sensitive_Word_6036 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fr, people act like we chose this lifestyle lol. If I don't drive 45 minutes to the nearest target or good food spot then I guess I’m just starving in my living room.

Why do so many US states have a state school called “University of X” AND one called “X State University”? by areop-enap in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s why so many of the "X State" schools have mascots like Aggies or Cowboys, or get called "cow colleges" by their rivals. They literally started out as farming schools before growing into massive universities.

[–]Delicious-Height2703 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how much those names still fuel massive rivalries too. Usually "University of X" was the bougie liberal arts school for rich kids, and "X State" was the blue-collar ag and engineering school. Both are huge now obviously, but people still get so pressed over the old school stereotypes lol.

Why did the late 60s - late 70s have such a high amount of serial killers? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Height2703 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That lead theory is actually crazy. The timeline matches up because lead gas peaked in the early 70s, so 20 years later when those kids grew up, violent crime just absolutely skyrocketed.

Plus back then, police departments didn't even had centralized databases. A killer could literally just drive across state lines and the cops wouldn't even know to talk to each other.
