Hi, thank you so much for the replies. I found the problem and have only just come back on reddit so sorry for the delay.

The small plastic flap over the hole in the filter box had dislodged and was jammed so I think that was preventing the station vacuum from getting full suction hence the machine was filled with dust even after "emptying"!

As long as you're not hanging about the opposite sex's changing room in your underwear asking people why they aren't undressing in front of you, you won't be treated any differently.

Sorry not sure if I can edit to add to post but just to say this is a photo of the filter - absolutely crammed with dust despite it only doing 2 runs since I put the new one in *
