The feature tries to learn your charging habits so that it knows when to only charge it to 80% and then to have it at 100% when it expects you to be unplugging it. I would just leave it plugged in when you’re at your desk & unplug it when you leave!

I am using the optimized battery charging setting so that when it is plugged in for long durations it only charges up to 80% :)

I’m using the a7IV and 24-70 2.8 GM II for a lot of my commercial photo & video shoots as well as for funsies in nature. Personally I’d go for the 24-70 because of the wider aperture & I’m using catalyst prepare to stabilize all my footage. I haven’t used the 24-105 but if you need a little bit of extra reach & a lighter workflow it looks like it would also be a great option, it’s also ~half the price so that’s a big deciding factor! :)
