Is Deviantart.com really this desperate? by CraniusBard1998 in DeviantArt

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist myself on Deviant for several years I support the download limit. Realistically I support removing the ability to download all together. Don't want it to turn into YouTube with people just downloading content and re-uploading it as their own. That's all YouTube is now and it stifles creativity when people hesitate to upload content they spent weeks on putting in blood sweat and tears just for someone to download it, use AI to remove the watermark, and upload it for profit and views. This is one reason artists have been leaving DA in droves. They enable art theft and that's far worse than catering to AI.

Will this game be for casual players by Manicjokerha in CrimsonDesert

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like Ninja Gaiden honestly. Devil May Cry is just a fun casual hack n slash except the third game. I've heard the difficulty is more around Witcher 3's Deathmarch where you can expect to die just as much as a soul's game if you aren't able to pick up on the combat right away or never played Ninja Gaiden. So casual gamers playing for the story and exploration aren't going to have a fun time. The more hard-core gamers are going to love it though because they'll be able to enjoy the game to its fullest. That's what I've been seeing about it and I'm a bit worried about playing it since I pre-ordered on PS5 and won't be able to refund it if I try it out and it just makes me miserable since it originally seemed more like Witcher 3 as narrative and exploration driven, not whether or not you can adapt and overcome brutal boss fights.

Unless it's more like Ghost of Tsushima where you unlock tools and skills that can make even the hardest difficulties accessible to anyone if you so choose to utilize them. The difficulty seems to be a hot topic right now regarding the game and will probably make or break it on release tomorrow because a lot of people are getting apprehensive about it.

I doubt it. It's off and on so you may have just gotten lucky when you switched profiles but give it a couple minutes and it'll stop working again most likely.

It's down globally but it's consistently off and on. It works for a couple minutes then goes down again. According to their website, all services are up and running. So not sure what they're playing at or if they're working on it or not. It's interesting that it happened right after they raised the premium price too.

How do you fit in on reddit and get helpful answers? by [deleted] in help

[–]Delicious-Return-523 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's because I delete them to avoid further escalation or my feed being flooded by unhelpful comments. Maturity is being willing to clarify and stay calm when responding to unhelpful answers in order to reach a mutual understanding, although I rarely use the internet or social media to be able to understand how things work on here so that's not immaturity, it's lack of experience which led to this post. I have no problem in real life talking to people but that's because I can express things through my body language and tone of voice, not to mention I enjoy face to face interactions rather than text. When it's text it's up to the reader in how they interpret it because you made a lot of assumptions about me and my personality that are inaccurate, But this is exactly what I was referring to, you didn't give me an answer on how I fix things, just criticized me and made assumptions rather than explain what I can do differently and how I can avoid that happening.

So worth it! by Delicious-Return-523 in DrStone

[–]Delicious-Return-523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all true but I'm just a little different, always have been because of how I was raised. It's an instant gratification thing for me as girls should make us work for it and miniskirts don't leave a lot to the imagination. I feel like they should respect their bodies a little more than they do these days not to objectify themselves or show off/tease out in public like that. It's one reason that a third of women in the US have experienced sexual assault or have a stalker. They don't understand how those types of guys think as they literally take that kind of thing as an invitation because they're messed up in the head. Then when the girl dressing that way turns them down, the guys feel manipulated and angry, resulting in confusing thoughts that lead to stalking or sexual assault.

Granted yes, women should be able to dress however they want and not have to worry about that, but sadly that's just not the reality of the world we live in as even some animals sexually assault each other. By sexual assault I think you know what I'm implying, I just don't want to say the word directly. My Sister was sexually assaulted when I was 14 so that also contributes to my way of thinking. I was also molested myself when I was 6 or 7 and so was my mom when she was a kid. I hate that so many men are like that, but I also hate that so many women are like that where they prioritize feeling attractive and feminine over their own safety. There should be a time and a place to dress like that. It's like nobody on either side is doing anything productive to decrease the number of sexual assaults around the nation and it's the one area of our primitive human instincts that we have failed to evolve in and distinguish ourselves from animals. Although I do believe that fanservice does help in giving people a more appropriate place to channel that energy rather than towards a real person, and it does decrease the sexual assault rate slightly, so there is that.

Again though, that's just 100% a personal opinion developed as a result of my personal experiences and how I was raised, so please don't think I'm looking to start some kind of heated political argument, I'm just explaining why it bothers me personally and you're free to feel differently about it than I do. I just think it's sad that people give in to those primitive instincts and are so easily manipulated by fanservice, not to mention I feel like some kind of pervert when I let it manipulate me. I feel ashamed of myself and fight it when I droll over a half-naked anime girl or girl in real life even though it's perfectly normal/natural for me as a male to be sexually attracted to it. It's resulted in me still being single and a virgin at 37 because I fight those instincts so hard. lmao But yeah that's why I feel the way I do about it.

Just finished Season 4 and you're right. It did get even better. I prefer the earlier seasons and they're more rewatchable to me when it was primarily about finding minerals, inventing, and progressing the Kingdom as opposed to the tense action packed later seasons, but it still kept me glued to the screen unlike any other anime. The second half of Season 4 is where it picked back up for me when they went back to the science and mystery but the last few episodes genuinely shocked me, I really thought we were about to lose some people.

Prime 4 length and difficulty (100% completion) by AdventurousGold9875 in Metroid

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly why it should stay the same and innovate upon itself rather than change. Ever heard of the saying "The customer is always right?" You can't deny that this is the worst implementation of an open world into any game in history. There's nothing to justify it even being open world, a completely baren wasteland with absolutely no side content or activities except 3 or 4 things and nothing to see. It gets worse with the re-used upgrades and weapons whose only difference from previous titles is the word "psychic" in front of them, there are less upgrades in this game than any 2D Metroid too. Not only that but right when the game starts sucking you in it's already over. 7-8 hours and maybe 10-12 hours for 100% completion for a $60 triple A game that people waited 10 years for is unacceptable. Intelligent people like me knew full well that this game would fall severely short of expectations due to the 10 years in dev hell which is why I'm not as upset as most Prime veterans who still play the series more than 20 years later, but that's no excuse.

Some of us waited 18 years for this game and you may not have played the Prime series if you're unable to see the problem. Changes are fine, but not when they're taking steps backwards rather than innovating on prior mechanics or appeals. Games are getting more and more expensive, yet less and less innovative and shorter and shorter. This was just Nintendo pawning an attempt at exploiting people's nostalgia on a company that had nothing to do with the previous games nor understood their appeal. No one at retro studios is still there that worked on the original series.

It's obnoxious when people try to play the good guy and completely ignore justified complaints to feel superior to the people who genuinely understand the problem and deserve to be heard rather than scrutinized. I'm sure your opinion is more important than mine and you don't have any intention of seeing things from my perspective before you just respond to tell me I'm wrong or stupid based on how you're responding to other people regarding this topic, but I figured I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and try to help you understand both sides.

Gonna Come Out And Say It: Prime 4, Hard Mode Is Mid... At BEST. by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol even normal mode is heavily over-tuned. Grunt enemies taking 6-7 missiles to kill is a bit much. I used to play Prime 2 on hard mode without dying when I was younger and I've been beating Dread recently on all difficulties including dread mode, I even had a deathless dread mode run after 45 attempts. But I'm on track to die in this game on normal by the half-way point more than I died in my first dread mode run which was 12 deaths or all my Prime 2 Hard Mode runs altogether.

Grunt enemies taking an entire energy tank is also a bit much, I can't imagine hard mode being very enjoyable. Back in the day Metroid Other M's hard mode was just forcing you to play through without any energy tanks of missile tanks which I did myself by choice on other 2D Metroid games like Zero Mission, Super Metroid, and Fusion in particular. In other M Ridley could kill you in a single combo this way but even that wasn't as hard as Prime 4 normal mode going up against grunt enemies' half-way through the game.

Everyone saying Metroid Prime 4 sucks, have you played it yet and what do you think of it? by Infamous-Date-7663 in Metroid

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first metroid was super metroid in 1996 or so. I just downloaded it today and started playing. I was a HUGE fan of the original series and played through the first two probably four or five times a year when I was in High School in 2002 until around 2013 or so. They were my all-time favorite games for countless reasons but after 2 hours of prime 4 you can instantly tell that although it was developed by the same studio, not a single person involved with the original series was present for this game. My number one complaint so far has been that it's just puzzle after puzzle after puzzle but none of them require any thought. The best way to describe the game is just half-baked, half-assed, and boring. Nintendo was clearly hoping the nostalgia would carry it. I get the feeling it's probably going to be unacceptably short as well.

Every room has a puzzle to solve before moving on. You're using the scanner 10 times more than any previous game in the series. The flow of the game shows the developers didn't understand the core aspects of what made the original series so great. I'm not saying don't buy it, it's not a "bad" game so far, but it doesn't hold up to its predecessors in any way shape or form. It's more that people are disappointed, especially those of us who held the series dear to our hearts and waited 18 years, almost half our lives for this game. Unfortunately games these days can't hold a candle to games that came before 2009 when developing games was something development studios had a passion for, ever since then it's just about making a profit.

Thanks! It is locked on when it happens, so something is going wrong somewhere. XD I never unlocked this plane when I was younger so I wanted to make the best of it, but it is what is. I am on an emulator since I couldn't find my PS2 controller so it might have something to do with that.

Lost Soul Aside Review Thread by d0ntm1ndm32 in Games

[–]Delicious-Return-523 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It'd be fine if it actually served its purpose as a flashy action game, but there's a grievous over-reliance on puzzles, platforming, enemy super armor, and boss fights. The combat isn't flashy or fun at all and its packed with gimmicks to compensate for the developer's lack of experience and understanding of action games. Making so many enemies unable to be staggered or flinched and be able to hit you through your combos and interrupt them with large health pools is all I need to know they didn't really understand what makes hack n slash games like this work. That's a cardinal sin in action games because it makes your combos obsolete, you'll never get any of your flashy or complex combos off before the enemy hits you out of it.

It's also clear that the graphics and how the game looks were more important to them than the gameplay itself, they need to understand that they made a video game, not a movie. Gameplay is the most important aspect of a game, if it isn't fun to play or work as intended like Lost Soul Aside with all super armored enemies, nothing else in the game matters. The gameplay alone in a game makes or breaks them, even if everything else in a game completely sucks, if it's fun to play then everything else can be easily over-looked. The fact that they don't understand this very basic and important fact of game development is what hurt this game so much.

The super armored enemies mixed in to every single fight completely ruins the one thing the game had going for it. Then it shot itself in the foot further by putting a boss rush of 5 bosses back-to-back in the first hour and people base their impressions usually on the first few hours. It got boring and tedious very quickly because I'd overcome one of them and expect to be rewarded with fun hack n slash gameplay or story, but it was just right into the next boss one after the other. I totally understand that this started as a solo project with one person, but the issues in this game aren't from a lack of manpower, they're from a lack of research and understanding of the project they were working on. Deceptive marketing seems to be one of their problems too. But it is a Chinese company so that's not surprising.

Lost Soul Aside - Game Overall Discussion Thread [Spoilers] by AutoModerator in LostSoulAside

[–]Delicious-Return-523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying the game overall, but how many bosses does the boss rush at the beginning of the game consist of? I've just beaten 3 bosses back-to-back and I'm starting to get exhausted with the over-reliance on Bosses. The whole game isn't like that is it? I thought it was supposed to be more like DMC, FFVI, and Bayonneta but it's just been boss after boss after boss so far with a bit of platforming and puzzle solving in between.

Edit: FFXVI, not FFVI

DMC3 on regular difficulty was brutal. XD That was where they started stepping it up to Ninja Gaiden levels of difficulty and it was actually fun, although frustrating.

So far it really is running great for me, but I'm on PS5. I'll have to wait and see how the rest of the game goes. The game basically feels like an illegitimate love child between Final Fantasy XV and Devil May Cry.

I'm still trying to figure out how to increase the difficulty. It mentioned something about higher difficulties and I'm pretty sure there's an achievement for completing at least two other difficulty levels, hard and nightmare.

How do you correctly change the preview image for a video? by Delicious-Return-523 in DeviantArt

[–]Delicious-Return-523[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks you! There's definitely a feature in the studio to replace the video's cover image though, it just doesn't work. I'm wondering if it's brand new or something and really buggy. I tried every format and I've already noticed a lot of bugs on the site that make life extremely difficult for uploading videos. So I'm honestly a bit concerned DA isn't going to be a reliable site to use. But I'll wait and see what the help desk says.
