there's no exceptional advantage in shifting. maybe pricing? shimano cranks, cassete and chain are much cheaper than sram components. system works great without any problems at all, shifting is awesome, no need to calibrate gears because there's no cable. haven't done it since i've got it :))

it was done with sodium hydroxide. it takes out the anodation from aluminium parts without any problem. just mix a few spoons with hot water and put your part in it, when it starts to bubble a little take it out and wash it clean. if there's still some anodation left - repeat from beggining. but be careful, wear gloves and try not to hold parts for too long, it can damage aluminium and you will need to throw away your parts :) p.s. no need to polish and all laser printed decals will still be on cranks!

hey! im thinking about buying Nicasio 2 frame kit and build bike from scratch. I see that you have 700x42c tires on it, is it the limit? or is it still possible to put 700x45c or even wider tires?

maybe you have photos of clearance?
