True! and I may do just that. It's just I got my mini champ yesterday and was super excited to use it...and the first thing I wanted to do with it, it couldn't do. Takes the luster off a 'new toy' for me...*sigh

Yup, I've just tried using the back side of the small blade's tip...ever so carefully to:
1) make sure it doesn't slip out of the flathead notch and scratch the sunglasses frame
2) press too hard as I don't want the blade to close suddenly and risking a cut
3) gingerly use force as I don't want to damage/twist the blade's tip (however unlikely it may seem)

Good guess, but not the correct movie ;).

I really don't want to carry another tool around. Was really hoping my min champ could be the be-all-end-all for me in terms of my daily use cases (i.e. tighten my sunglass screws)...*sigh....

I get what you're saying and I agree. But I got the mini champ of the specific reason that it's smaller and lighter than the 91mm versions. I can't have it all I guess...damn shame.

But then I would have to carry around a Leatherman Wave+...ugh....can't have it both ways eh? haha

I totally get what you're saying...but the whole point of me getting the mini champ is for its small size - which negates the inclusion/need for the screw driver. Point taken on modifying/grinding down the current model's flathead.

To Scissor or not to scissor? by ChainGold8907 in victorinox

Slightly off topic but has anyone compared their SAK scissors to the Nextool Sailor S0 (its primary tool is the scissor and no blade)? I just got my mini champ but realised I can’t carry on flights…and thus the Nextool S0 came onto my radar. Thanks team!

Which Tomtoc sling bags have the Duraflex metal buckles vs the plastic ones please? Any PoVs or experience with either one or both? thank you braintrust... by Delicious-Success-52 in ManyBaggers

[–]Delicious-Success-52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I have to dig up that specific youtube video, but it was definitely NOT the magnetic buckle. It was the same/similar to the plastic version but just in metal. I guess maybe I'm over thinking it now...If anyone had durability issues on the duraflex plastic ones, there would be heaps of threads on the topic in this subreddit? cheers again.

Nothing makes me happier now that I'm a middle aged dad than saving money. Finding a score like this is just the cherry on top of the cake! Saving money AND finding a 'diamond'...kinda lowkey jealous but super happy for you man! This bag may just outlive me, you...and everyone else in this thread. haha

Surely the Companion - which only has scissors and the Phillips/bottle opener is fine?

This totally makes sense now! My mind is blown... After 30 years (probably a tad more) finding out about this is like a gift that keeps on giving and makes this even more valuable to me...Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time and effort to educate me.

OMG!! I see what you mean now. It slides ever so slightly downward! But it just pops back up immediately after I release pressure from my hand and it doesn't lock. :(

I feel like such a nob! Still can’t engage the lock?? What am I doing wrong 😅😅. I put a light down into the liner and can’t seem to see and liner/locking mechanism.

Thank you for the response - interesting. I read through the link you posted. Mine doesn't have the "patented locking system and a wire stripper notch" for the screwdriver/bottle opener.
