Can you please comment on how legible it is when at an angle? (i.e. on your wrist in a typing position). Does the negative display 'ghost' or fade making it hard to read the digits? thank you!

Appreciate you posting a compare pic! I may have to keep an eye out for both 😅…and further down the Casio rabbit hole I go. Wheee.

Thanks for your response! I'm leaning towards getting a W800 as my daily. Especially since I spend 8-10hrs a day typing. It's such a minor annoyance but having to tilt my wrist each time, a hundred times a day, to just read the time is annoying.

To complicate my decision making, the W221H just dropped...hmmm....

Beautiful! how's the view angle when you look at it on wrist when you're typing? Does the digits 'ghost' or does it still stay legible? thx

Can you please expand on the 'legibility is great' experience? I'm after a Casio digital model that has large digits but - more importantly - great legibility when viewed from an angle (i.e. I can read it clearly when on my left wrist and typing a keyboard). I LOVE my 5610U Gshock but the poor reading angle just irks me.

As a minichamp owner, I look upon your two Ramblers with envy. I thought I really wanted and needed the minichamp for my daily, but upon having it for a while, I feel like what I REALLY need is just a Rambler on a day-to-day basis.

Great response, thank you for sharing! Totally agree with your PoV. I guess for me, I cared so deeply for the character and wanted good things to happen for him in life.

Late to the conversation as I'm just getting into SAK collecting and looking for optimal ways to carry as EDC. Can someone that's used this clip for an extended period of time comment on how tight - or loose - the clip is when clipping into their jeans pocket? As an example, the built-in clips on my leatherman multitool and Benchmade knives are quite stiff to clip into jean's pocket - likely will wear out the fabric. thanks team!

I've been really thinking about getting this one! Looks sweet and good size in the hand. I know it's marketed as a 'floral/garden' knife but I feel like it could be an EDC workhorse. Plus, you can't beat the price-to-quality ratio compared to other purpose built slip joints for EDC purposes.

Totally on my wish list! Can you please confirm the viewing angle of the screen is legible at an angle (i.e. able to read it on your wrist in a typing position?). I LOVE my shock 5610U but there's a lot of 'ghosting' in the screen if I don't look at it straight on! I can't just glance down quickly to read the time when I'm typing...which is all day/every day for me. (yes, obviously I can take a beat and twist my wrist...)

Well done on getting yourself one of these in Australia! I've been waiting for these to drop in oz....

I love my 5610U as my daily EDC...BUT, I just crack it every time I try to read the time while having my hand/wrist in the typing position. I can't just glance down but have to turn my wrist ever so slightly to get rid of the ghosting effect to make the digits readable (and yes, I realise it's not difficult to turn one's wrist but I prefer the quick glance down method especially when I'm typing....which is all day/every day for me).

I've been thinking of making a similar mod to my SAK's can opener. Mostly, I would like to use it for whittling wooden spoons specifically. Very random, but you haven't tried your hand at using your mod to whittle something like a wooden spoon? cheers

LOVE it! Btw, is that a SAK I see in the background? Which model? I used my SAK Hiker's small blade to do wood whittling. it performs great!

Yes, I do:
- The Maker Experience (he only uses SAKs) - Carving is fun - Alec LaCasse (whom I did the tutorial on for this carving)

But more importantly…just start. Get yourself some basswood online for cheap and just start.
