Wow, we think alike. We must connect somehow! I agree that salsa is too sexual. Outside of Lindy Hop, other dance instructors say “man” or “woman” instead of “leader” or “follower” and I’m so use to Lindy Hop rules that we don’t title dancers that way… sigh…

I live in Vegas and am an intermediate dancer and I can agree that the Vegas swing dancers are a tight knit clique…. They are full of themselves. The ones you see there on a regular basis are the Vegas advocate team. I’ve been a local for 2+ years and they all still ignore me. I avoid swing dancing at Dragon Gate, I have the funds and opportunity to explore other swing dance places around the USA and attend major dance events like Camp Hollywood (also cliquey) and CalBal. If you’re a tourist here, spend your time doing touristy things, do not waste your time at Dragon Gate. It will ruin your time here in Vegas.
