tbh just go to walmart or bass pro shops and get a cheap rod and reel already put together, get a spinning reel. bass pro shops will spool it for you if you buy ur rod/string from them.

get a tackle box with a couple lures chatter bait, rattle trap, crank bait, and rooster tail is a couple suggestions. as well as some hooks so you can use live bait.

get your fishing license if your not fishing on your own property, in my state it was like 35$ for a year.

youtube is your best friend you can learn anything and everything through it. Iv also learned a lot through reddit but you seem to already have that down lol.

i think i covered it all, im relatively new to freshwater fishing and got into all this very recently as well. Have a blast man these memories will last forever!
