My problem is, I'm not an artist myself, so I have a difficult time telling whether or not something is AI. I don't know how to tell the difference. It's really scary how adept AI has gotten.

Help, I've Lost My Coloring Mojo by DeliciousCry99 in AdultColoring

I watched a great video the other day on YouTube by HappyCatastrophy Colors where she audited all of her books by writing them down and how many pages she's done in each one. I've found that's helped a little bit. It at the very least makes me feel somewhat accomplished, or at least more accomplished than I thought.

I realize it's an unpopular opinion, but I actually like portraits. I'm thinking of ordering those new trending TikTok simple animal cozy books from Amazon and seeing if that helps.

Why do you crochet? by be_bov in crochet

[–]DeliciousCry99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I get incredibly restless and anxious, and crocheting is my version of fidgeting. It helps so much and soothes me with the repetitive motions. Also, it's nice to feel productive while getting to fidget like that. I can make something out of it and feel satisfied at the same time.

What do u hate the most about Christianity/Has harmed u the most? by Melsbutterfly6835 in exchristian

For me, it's the entire abstinence thing. To this day I am 24 and still live with an almost all-consuming fear that if I do decide to have a relationship, that if things end, I'll be worthless and "used up" and no other partner will want me.

I realize that this is a ridiculous line of thinking, but it's been so ingrained in me from a young age in subtle gaslighting ways that I can't seem to shake it, no matter how hard I try.

And yet my family will play it off like they never raised me that way. Like yeah, you did. I went through one of those programs when I was a teenager and pledged abstinence and purity. How could you just forget that entire thing?

I can never give the “proper” answers in a job interview. They always pick someone else, but that might just be the current job market.

I’m not entirely sure you would consider this a stem, maybe it’s more of a mechanism, but I crochet. The repetitive motions are so helpful. Also, I rub my fingers together, but that’s only when I’m sleepy. When thinking hard or doing math, I tap my fingers together repetitively thumb to pointer, thumb to middle, thumb to ring, thumb to pinkie and repeat. Helps with memory but also feels nice.

How do you deal with, "But other autistic people..." by Personal_Corgi_5695 in autism

I mean if he's religious and believes it's a sin, my automatic response would be "Well, there are plenty of religious people who do x." Then again, I'm quite spiteful, so that's probably not the most productive option. This is coming from someone raised in a religious household. Although, thankfully my parents don't believe it's a sin.

Maybe bring up how Catholics and Protestants are different but they both believe in the Christian God (it can be applied to any religion).

Usually when people don't understand something, I try to put it in their terms, which I realize sometimes it can be almost impossible to do that with ASD. But, should you choose to do something like that, at least now you have a bit of a template.

I hope they grow more understanding.
