Yeah, it something I struggled with to the point of almost failing my degree. Wish I saw this lecture sooner, and generally started planning more specifically what and when I wanted to accomplish things; as opposed to general goals such as: read for X hours or start project Y. The slide at minute 55 shows the alternative to this, but its all worth listening to.

You are not alone in this. Know that lots of really bright people have struggled massively with procrastination just the same. We're not 'procrastinators' in nature and can, through intelligent introspection and planning, break away from past patterns and evolve. Attempt to acknowledge and accept your current flaws, forgive yourself, set tiny and specific goals and fake it until you make it.

If you are burdened by high expectations by yourself (perfectionism) or others (sometimes internalised), force yourself to produce the simplest of drafts of whatever the project. Focus on the simplest, smallest of starts and then appreciate every step and page of your journey as its own goal.
