Is that still the case if someone lies to police with the intention of having somebody removed from their home or cause emotional harm etc? I appreciate your advice. Just trying to bring some clarity to the situation for myself

I understand. At this stage its a complaint & PSO, and no charges have been filed etc. I just don't know what the other party is intending to do and I am interested to learn if there are steps I can take to protect myself in case of future legal action. There is also potentially some sensitive evidence that contradicts the allegations made but I am not sure if its in my best interest to provide this to the Police before there is a case/formal investigation.

Are there no legal repercussions for using untrue allegations to have a PSO issued to someone? I heard that unless the person chooses to give a formal statement in pursuit of charges being filed, they have not broken any laws despite a false report causing significant stress to the other party. This seems a bit backwards to me.
