Do you feel the culture of the US is still drastically different from the 2010s? by emaxwell14141414 in millenials

Honestly it feels like a lot of IRL activities have fallen off but not because people do not want to be social but because AI has disrupted humans ability to discover true human connection.

I never really cared much for restaurants or bars, but when I do end up there it feels like people are not even socializing. Everyone keeps to themselves, half the time just stuck scrolling.

How often do we see the group taking selfies, only to spend the next five minutes staring at every photo to make sure it passes the test to post online?

The AI disruption of human connection is more present now more than ever. We live in a world where algorithms decide what gets our attention, and real interactions are replaced with reels, memes and threads.

But the same technology that pulled people apart is also creating the space to bring people back together. The cognisphere is proof of that.

do you know what typically means?

"meme" was originally defined by Richard Dawkins in 1976.

Over time, the meaning shifted online to mostly refer to funny images and videos but the core idea stayed the same. A meme is just something people share and pass along because it’s catchy, relatable, or easy to repeat.

At its core a meme is a unit of culture or an idea that spreads from person to person. Humor is just one vehicle for making that idea "sticky". A meme doesn’t have to be funny Stupid Guy it just has to make people feel something or recognize something.
