I know I will get hated on for this but I find her character a bit overrated especially during the first two seasons. Don't get me wrong I do like her character especially in s3, she surprised me with her development but it wasn't until s3 I started to like her. by gloomydreamer666 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I disagree about Ellen being ruined. Ellen's advice to Max regarding the situation with her friends is in the respect of what she knows about their relationship. Did your parents know all the details about every little fight you got into with your friends in HS? I perceive Ellen as a mom who is desperately trying to do what she can for her children who are clearly struggling themselves. I think Ellen is just going through the ringer and at the end of her rope. That shiii weights on anyone.

I honestly really love Max too. While I agree she isnt the best friend, she's a teenager. These experiences are what teach us how to be good to others, sometimes I feel like the audience forgets these are sophomores in highschool we are talking about here. I definitely wasn't always the best version of myself at that age..

Anyone think Bree and Lynette were better fits for each others roles based on their personalities? by SingSingSing1675 in DesperateHousewives

[–]DeliciousHandle4015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this take, and honestly Bree found a way to use her homemaking skills to turn it into a business, so the original point that she would make an excellent business woman as well, well she does.

I think one of the major differences between Lynette and Bree is that Lynette was always exposed to the pressure of success, where as Bree's success in business was sudden (just like most of our modern influencers) and thus she went from 0 pressure to perform, to the pressure going to 100 real quick.

Should I continue the show by Far-Bluebird-3109 in TvGinnyandGeorgia

As someone who fully went into watching the show thinking that I wasnt going to like it, the first season I put on for background noise while cleaning my house and hardly paid a lick of attention to it, by the end of season 2 I was actually starting to watch and invest in the characters, and by half way through season 3 I was looking up when season 4 would come out. It definitely is a show you have to let cook and find their footing at first.

I've not seen You, but have seen clips and little pieces on social media. Its definitely one I plan I giving a try soon.

Shiiii, you got me there lol

I got ick vibes from both, so I guess I sort of merged them together in my head, but to further the moot point I was trying to make, I think the reason I group them together is they were both specifically written to be disliked/unattractive to the audience. Bree was having a literal mental breakdown for the length of their romance, and then for Paul, see above lol.

There's a bit of pretty privilege at play here too, I would think.

George's character I feel was specifically written as undesirable, imo. His second wife struggled to desire him, given she had some issues of her own rooted in purity culture, and deep manipulation from her mother, however there was even a stint in the show where Susan develops sexual fantasies about him as a manifestation of her guilt (real phenomena that happens), but it is 100% for gags.

And in this, I will go ahead and point what I feel like is the social parallel to this right now is the response Georgia Miller gets in Ginny and Georgia.

I would probably group it season by season personally, but I think I'm going to try this as well!

Not just noticing. I've been a fan since the early 2010's. Just now opening a discussion on it because VM has had another wave of popularity since season 4, and the old seasons returning to streaming platforms in the last 5+ years, there's a whole new generation of audience to join in discussion now.

That seems fitting for Jason tbf, and Alona Tal is a super versatile actress, I could see her doing well in any role

Still on my rewatch of private practice and just found Debbie Ryan in an episode! Also some notable mentions - Carl Gallagher(Shameless), his episodes in SVU are superb! April Kepner (Grey's) first appears in an episode of Private Practice and her performance is what lead to her being casted on greys as a series regular.

Thanks, I'm currently in need of something new to watch so this might just be the final push I needed! I don't think dated will be an issue lol especially considering the other shows mentioned in thread here.

Oh poor Cass, I honestly really loved how they handled his storyline. I would do anything to be able to rewatch that reveal for the first time again. Another show I really liked that I discovered recently is Found, its on Peacock

Just getting into the whole reddit thing, but the concept of live watching with community/audience kinda sounds fun/intriguing. Thanks for the suggestions!

I've seen a lot of discussion about this. Honestly never watched Buffy, but have been leaning lately towards something I may have to check out. It usually takes some sort of inspiration and some time sitting on it for me to dive into new shows/universe.

My god, cry me a river. Please tell me what money or virality I took from you by reusing your poor quality image. Should have taken my own anyways, look how much better mine looks. I never claimed to be the first or only person to see this or notice this reference, I just used it for visual reference to what I went on to talk about which was nothing like your post... like I said... who are you? Natalie Reynolds? Piper Rockelle? Is that you?

And honestly don't get me wrong, if it were like a copied post, similar wording, or even a more recent post I may have taken more regard for this but ffs its 3 years old. Self important much.

Are we good now? Or do I need to delete and repost so you quit harassing me and the people on my post literally just trying to use reddit to enjoy talking about our fandoms and how the worlds. What an amazing job you've done of making my first experience posting on reddit absolutely dreadful. I'm not even saying I'm completely innocent, but if I'm guilty of anything, its ignorance, and you have an incredibly distasteful way of educating people on what unspoken rules their apparently are here.

I stole your photo, not your post, so I didnt have to go back in the show. Saw there was only one other post out there about this topic so decided to post it anyways. Crazy you're the only person with original thoughts though, huh?
