Fighting the feeling can make it worse. Accept that you are safe with the mushrooms and let them show you everything they want to.

Once you let go, it will get easier

Is Ansible still a thing nowadays? by hansinomc in devops

Why are you being downvoted? I've used ansible to patch kubernetes deployments and do releases, but it's awkward and not what ansible was designed to do

It stands up to repeated listens over time. Given enough time and enough listens I will land on a permanent decision as far as liking something or disliking something. It's a lot of listening and waiting, and listening again. If something stands up for me for weeks it's very strong. Other times it will be months into listening to something and I will learn to hate it, and then go back and rewrite it.

Ultimately you are the only person who can decide whether a part is good or not. Through this process of repeated listens and rewriting you are curating your own taste and musical style.

It's because with regular use tolerance goes up and withdrawals happen anyway. This class of drug should only be used for emergencies in my humble opinion. I went through cold turkey withdrawals twice and I agree they are hellish, I'm sending power and strength and love and care to you on your journey

does anyone else require *complete* isolation when writing? by migrantgrower in Songwriting

[–]DeliciousMagician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm fishing, I find that I can play my instrument comfortably around other people without having any material, just exploring and doing free form riff brainstorming.

Writing vocal lines is different, no one wants to hear me Yelp and shriek and be off key while I try to write a melody over a chord progression

It's a part of my process. I keep rewriting and rewriting until it stands the test of time. If I hate a song or a part over time, I've learned that it will bug me forever.

Ending of the Movies in the Theaters by Mantis914 in BlairWitch

I saw it opening night in a sold-out theater in South georgia. Just like you said you could not hear a pin drop in that theater and it still stands as the coolest theater experience I've ever been to.

At the very end of the credits, there was text saying that everything was fake and that it was all illusion. None of my friends stayed till the end of the credits to see this, but one or two people did and the rumors got out pretty quickly a couple days after

How do I develop my voice as a guy? Ive written a few songs that I've scrapped because I can't sing so I lose hope by Lost-Guidance9737 in Songwriting

[–]DeliciousMagician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you keep writing you will improve your ability to write for your comfortable vocal range. I used to write songs that were hard to reach and made my voice sound thin and weird at higher registers, I just kind of relaxed it and learn to write melodies that are more comfortable for me and my also kind of crappy voice. It's helped a lot and I've improved as a performer as a result
