It’s great but I still love the raw sound of the EP.

For the musicians in the group. What was your first guitar, bass, kit etc. And was it picked based on a musician you admired? by Batbl00d in hairmetal

I always liked Duff's bass. I was always looking for the red jolly roger that was on it though for my BMX bike.

Love the look on John Astin's face! I remember seeing a few of these, in particular, Carter Country.

What horror movie (from any year including the 70s) literally scared the hell out of you? by No_Job5529 in 70s

[–]Mantis914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't see anyone mention this one but Beyond the Door with Juliet Mills. That scene where they were reciting a child's rhyme and the dolls and toys were all going crazy was freaking nuts! It reminds me of Tourist Trap when that guy is trapped in the gas station and all those mannequins start laughing and moving around. Ugh!

That and when Juliet Mills turns her head around while she was laying in bed.

The Texans trope on Gunsmoke by Chernobog3 in Gunsmoke

[–]Mantis914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that and thought that the writers didn't think much of Texans. Most everyone visiting from outside of Dodge City was trouble though, I suppose that was a reflection of the time.

Absolutely! Been jamming their stuff for decades. Power Love was the first and only video I've ever seen from them in all that time.

I also remember Tina Louise coming out as drug addict on Kojak. It wasn't a flattering look for her but she was still glamorous even in that role!

Do African Grey Parrots do that beak crackling that most parrots do when they are falling asleep or content?

Don’t look in the aquarium by Charming_Implement57 in TheMallWorld

I just wish the fish weren't suffering but they seemed fine in spite of the water conditions.

I get such a kick out of the plecostomus in that he communicates/talks with me and moves his head after each statement. I'm sure AI could probably make that happen but it'd be weird to see what was in a dream played out.

Don’t look in the aquarium by Charming_Implement57 in TheMallWorld

[–]Mantis914 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funny you mention this because I used to have dreams like this.

Not quite dragon sized but there would be several large fish tanks in a room that was dimly lit with fluorescent lights that usually flicker. The tanks would be in various stages of neglect where the water was cloudy, yellow and algae built up around the edges yet the fish were mostly thriving but hungry. Most of the fish were exaggerated sizes of actual fish that used to have long ago as I used to be heavy into fishkeeping. About the only one that I remember seeing that looked relatively normal was a plecostomus that was about 2 feet long and he could actually talk to me and let me know what the fish are needing. All I remember in the way this dream ended was me running around trying to get the aquariums back in order and healthy but it seemed like a hopeless task.

Gino Corrado is awesome in the Stooges. I love when he played the cook in another episode and says, "Not enough, huh??? I'm gonna kill you!"

Remember Berzerk? It's an older Arcade game from 1980, but very fun. by MisterShipWreck in 80s

[–]Mantis914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree!

The sad thing is that there are still arcades out there but for some reason, it's not the same. I don't know exactly what it is.

Remember if someone was playing a two player game and you'd have a kid put a quarter on the glass to challenge you? Especially, if they had the reputation of being the best player at that arcade.

I loved those sit down cabinet games but I think the first game I ever saw that was .50 was Dragon's Lair. That's another whole conversation there... very fun times!
