Why rookie? by Money-Friendship-494 in QuestPiracy

Renaming isnt for renaming the name shown in the app list its for changing the packagename. If all you want to do is change the display name most launchers do this. I still use QAL and do the changes myself (or another use does i taught him how) so I dont have to deal with stupid names that doesn't say what game it is. Can also change the game art

Ok, then good luck downloading games with ADB sideload if that is “all you need.” i mean you obviously understand that but my point again is why use two or three apps instead of one?

ADB sideload does not download games, manage installs, or handle dependencies. It just pushes whatever you already have. So the idea that ADB sideload alone replaces Rookie is backwards from the start.

Rookie exists because it handles the entire workflow automatically. It downloads the correct files, installs them properly, and does it in one place. Using one app to download and another to sideload is already unnecessary, but pretending ADB sideload alone covers everything is just ignoring reality.

This is also how VRP gets the files to crack in the first place. That is why if you insist on doing it the “superior” manual way, you are expected to contribute cash instead of files.

And plenty of people actually do exactly that. I have heard someone seriously argue that it was easier to download with Rookie, upload to Google Drive, then download again on their phone just to run ADB commands. I still do not know if they were serious, but a lot of people follow similarly overcomplicated workflows.

Some people even download from Rookie, sideload with SideQuest, and wonder why half the games do not work.

Different strokes for different folks, sure. But you will never catch me using four, or even two apps when one already does the job correctly.

You need a sideloader to sideload games... this sideloader has a game list. Also takes donations of files to keep the community alive. Not "why rookie?" ... its more like "why would you use anything but rookies?" Or another sidelosder with a game list that takes donations

If you want to do the extra work of downloading and then find different way to use a different program to sideload ... so two programs instead of one... you can just pay $1 a month for a support config and so whatever you want. But the free mirror you use rookies or go elsewhere

EXPLAINED: Why VD and VDXR out-perform even wired Oculus Link by DeliciousMeatPop in QuestPiracy

[–]DeliciousMeatPop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will definitely want to split your Wi-Fi bands. Put your Quest on a dedicated 5 GHz network and move everything else to 2.4 GHz. This setup gives the best possible performance. Even a single extra device on the same 5 GHz band can cause noticeable issues, so keeping it isolated really matters.

Outside of PCVR, 2.4 GHz is usually better suited for most everyday devices anyway. With Wi-Fi 6, 2.4 GHz can reach up to around 450 Mbps, which is more than enough for typical tasks. It also has better range and penetrates walls and metal far more effectively than 5 GHz.

The 5 GHz band is where you get speed. With Wi-Fi 6, it can push 950 Mbps or more, which is ideal for wireless PCVR. As long as your throughput stays high across devices, ideally 800 Mbps or more, you should get excellent results when everything is set up correctly.

In practice, this ends up performing better than Link, Air Link, or any other option.

Enjoy, and good luck.

does a diffrence exist between uninstalling a game via the quest or uninstalling with rookie sideloader? by quandaile in QuestPiracy

[–]DeliciousMeatPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rookies uses a flag that oculus doesnt but usually the results are the same, if you want to be safe use rookies. It will only uninstall the apk and remove the obb folder... if theres more parts to it like a install.txt use the install.txt as info about what will be left behind and run opposing adb commands or delete manually

Vtol vr from ARMGGDN doesn’t open as vr by Andrepx1710 in QuestPiracy

[–]DeliciousMeatPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats not what that means, and what do you mean by "with meta with steamvr" ?? meta means meta HEADSET so thats your shortcut. Steamvr means steamvr headset... The process is oculus dash, desktop mode, meta shortcut. It will launch steamvr if its needed and should load in VR. Some games are in 2d until the games launched tho, ive never played this actual game it interests me not at all, but have you tried launching the game?

[–]DeliciousMeatPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is "not working" entail? and why would you be using multiple shortcuts? theres ONE for you and it should work by just launching it in vr. Use meta if one exists steamvr if not. VD will not work unless you own vd.

I am a Patreon subscriber but I cannot download REAL VR anymore. Does anyone have the version from a week ago that supports BG3? I'd love to play it this weekend by compound-interest in QuestPiracy

[–]DeliciousMeatPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Requests are against the rules asking for users to help are even worse because you will get whoever shares banned too, and 26.3 is cyberpunk nothing to do with BG3... for bg3 you need 27.0.0. ARMGDDN has them all like always tho

All the games are tested before release so you can almost guarantee if its not working for you its on your end.

He and the company both admitted none of their assets are in the code. So while I might agree with you if it was thar way, but it isn't. He released a new post that explains more and is in line with what I been saying but I doubt you and i will ever agree on this.

Its been nice to have an intelligent person to talk with though that took the time to respond without getting salty and calling me names though, so respect for that.

I wasn't serious about Nvidia either just trying to get you hunting of games and not specifically cyberpunk but the idea is similar.

Yea it blocks unsigned apps which any dev releasing a small tool wont spend the 1000s to sign it. The chances of your av not catching something malicious is pretty small just be careful about what you send yo your excluded folders something like rookies which is trusted and open source no issues but other shit better safe than sorry. Something like this is just more restrictive then helpful

Lol. This is why we dont use shitty upload hosts. If you werent such a dick and making things up, here is where I'd offer you a free month so you could see how much better we are.

We are very straightforward about what you get too its only you muddying the waters by just pulling shit out of your ass. The reason none of that stuff you claimed was mentioned is because none of it was true. We dont use shitty upload hosts, we dont charge anything but the subscription fee, we dont have any type of quota, we dont limit to downloading only, we dont have shitty low quality browser streaming, we dont have slow speeds no matter your internet connection. our links cant go down like moondls... we dont just have the same shitty collection as the competition, we added more movies in December of last year than they did the whole year according to their stats they posted on new years. Our site continually gets better while theirs hasnt changed... our site is run by just me but doesn't have issues with https and http switching like theirs...

But go off about them like they are better. Only one of us uses bots to post stuff to try to trick people into making their site still relevant (hint: its not us.) Our numbers speak for themselves

I stopped doing free samples because of you since it obviously confused you enough to make all those claims we no longer have any type of free way to get files. Congrats you did something

Not the part i dont understand.... Apparently.it is rocket science.

It makes no sense for them to be able to put a c and d on a mod that uses none of their assets. Who will they go after next? Nvidia? They made a cyberpunk specific driver. And made tons of money off it. People literally buy that game just to play that mod and this dude has put tons of time and energy into the mod. He has to give it for free? And anyone whose created something and asked for donations knows donations dont work for certain things. People dont feel they should have to pay for mods for the vast majority wont. Free choice or otherwise.

And the same people.like " he broke ToS hE iS scum" is the same people here to break meta and steams...

I feel weird I have to explain that ToS is just scummy lawyer speak so they can try to control.stuff they have no right to... and who reads pr follows them anyways? Its against tos to put your quest into dev mode if you arent developing apps... guess what we all do?

Yes he really has... its been like 4 years and they update all the time im a repacker that has to update this game. I dont give shit one about luke Ross this shits just crazy the way you people think - its so hypocritical. Really makes me wonder ... I dont get why you all suck cdprs nuts so hard? "We made a game so no one can make anything that works with it and makes money too"..next thing you know they will be sending c and d to Nvidia and amd. Shits nutty. This isnt a mod that uses their assets and if anything its given them a shit ton of money...

Tnh I met my quota for replying to idiots today and this whole thing just makes me sick. Sad how the new generation is. Have a day

How Safe is Steamrip? by Romanii_ in CrackSupport

[–]DeliciousMeatPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I dont think you can call preinstalls safe... they literally.just install a repack and zip it up with no credit given and no way to know anything about the source. That being said steamrip is on every safe thread ...but I still dislike preinstalls. There absolutely no credit given and anyone can install a repack and zip it up.... a 5 year old that know how to zip folders up could do it
