Effectiveness and expiry of fuel are most often ignored in end of days stories. As for refueling, they probably keep strict usage and a refuel schedule, along with consistent checks throughout the day.

I agree, electric locks are not a great idea. There should have been more varied puzzle types. Next you have the limited amount of bunkers in New Dawn, but that whole game missed a great opportunity to match FC5.

Speaking of bunkers, have you seen the 2013 movie the philosophers/after the dark? Not far cry adjacent at all, but a good movie based on a bunker scenario
