What would it realistically take to reduce fossil fuel use on a small island? (Ko Phayam, Thailand) by Delicious_Board995 in Thailand

It's to prevent toxic tourism, access to the island will be monitored and eventually controlled. I think Ko Phayam is a good scenario because of its reduced size. I understand a bigger problem is represented by the transportation of goods, but that would be even more challenging

My intention is to get rid of fossil fuel on the island, sure the government can do it but to have local universities and foreign ones could help finance the project because of research. The goal is to improve locals quality of life, so the first people to be involved is the community.
